As noted in the video, Motor Trend, not GM, dubbed this the "Hurricane Turn".
Motor Trend first reported it during the truck's debut back in January. It stemmed from a discussion about intelligently using individual brake application with the drive system to better assist the driver when maneuvering the vehicle. The turn-on-an-axis example was an example of one of the extremes the system can respond to. Motor Trend seemed to latch onto that, probably because of Rivian's advertising of the "tank-turn". As far as I can tell, GM hasn't made a peep about it and the media has picked up on Motor Trend's words.
