Real basic question.
My pal has a lightweight snow plow made by SPX. He has no owner's manual.
What kind of hydraulic fluid do you think would work in it?

He's guessing between 32 weight "farm" hydraulic fluid or Dex/Merc.

My guess is that either would work.

So, without fear of involvement or any of that bad stuff, what do you think would be acceptable fluid?

Thanks

Hydraulic oi with ISO 32/46 grade is typically monograde/shear-stable, hence should be preferred whilst ATF not .

Amazon shows snow plow hydraulic fluids (Meyer, Western, SnowDogg as examples) for sale. In the absence verifiable info, I would use one of them. SnowDogg advertises one good to -50 degrees F if he needs a low temp fluid.
