Hi (again),

What would you rate which is the choise for gearbox oil to use with dry clutch?

Engine is TM K9C, 125cc two stroke racing engine for karting. Manufacturer recommends just regular ATF oil for gearbox. I don't know how good that can be, it just seems quite low-end solution. Other ones are recommending "long life" oil used in TDI engines. Using oil for other purpose than it's designed and against recommendation of the manufacturer, seems bit scary. What do you think?

Are the motorcycle gearbox oils generally the same as 4T engine oils, with just additives to protect the clutch? Why are the gearbox oils usually thicker than engine oils? What's difference in long-life vs. regular engine oils?

ATF+4 is synthetic and is used in automatic and manual vehicle transmissions. Check and see if it's OK for you application, but it is very good ATF fluid.
