Anyone know about the Throttle Body Issues that have been documented in some Ford vehicles? Any specifics on which models, years, and engines these were?

I've read about them online for Fusions and some full size Transits and Transit Connects. I'm researching for a potential TC purchase.

Yes there is an extended warranty on certain units. There is an updated part that should be the fix, at least we haven't replaced any of the new number yet.

A quick online search shows these vehicles were effected:
2015 Ford Edge built 9/1/15-12/21/15 in Oakville, MI

2015-2016 Ford F-150 built 8/1/15 to 5/17/16 in Dearborn MI, 8/31/15 to 4/27/16 in Kansas City

2015-2016 Lincoln MKT built 9/1/15 to 5/10/16 in Oakville, MI

2015-2016 Police Interceptor Sedan built 9/1/15 to 3/19/16 in Chicago

2015-2016 Ford Escape built 9/1/15 to 3/14/16 in Louisville, KY

2015-2016 Ford Explorer built 8/4/15 to 5/25/16 in Chicago

2015-2016 Ford Flex built 9/22/15 to 4/14/16 in Oakville, MI

2015-2016 Ford Fusion built 9/15 to 2/29/16 in Flat Rock, MI, 9/1/15 to 4/4/16 in Hermosillo, Mexico

2016 Lincoln MKX built 9/1/5 to 5/16/16 in Oakville, MI

2016 Ford Mustang built 9/1/15 to 4/26/16 in Flat Rock, MI

2016 Police Interceptor Utility built 9/1/15 to 5/26/16 in Chicago

2016 Ford Taurus built 9/28/15 to 5/2/16 in Chicago

2016 Ford Transit built 9/1/15 to 5/21/16 in Kansas City

However, I wonder if this is a continued problem.

Anyway to look for this problem in a pre-purchase inspection?

I have a 2016 Escape with the 2.5 and luckily I haven't experienced this problem....in fact the Escape has been totally trouble-free.

My 2016 was built in 8/15 (apparently the month before the issue began). The thing that I find strange is that they list "2015-2016 Ford Escape built 9/1/15 to 3/14/16 in Louisville, KY".....why would they still be building 2015's a month or more after my 2016 was built?

I just found the list off that site. Super glad to hear that you haven't had any trouble with your vehicle!

I did find that Ford issued repair recalls (extended warranty) for certain models for this issue but the list I found for those were all 2009-2013 models. It doesn't seem that the extended warranty for this issue applied to newer models after 2013. https://www.ncconsumer.org/news-art...y-to-cover-throttle-body-assemblies.html

Although, I have read this is an issue with some other models and years of a variety of vehicles. Obviously from the list above, some still experience this problem.
