I did a search and didn't find any info. I saw this advertised in a Super Street magazine. Is it any good or just a run of the mill synthetic?

TIA
David

It is less than run-of-the-mill synthetic. I did some research on it a year or so ago and found it to be very sub-par. I wouldn't use it.

There has plenty of chat about this oil, but the search engine sucks so bad I couldn't find anything either.

It seems like very few have actually used it, but the price seems high for a mostly group III oil.

Yeah it appears Eneos came to the U.S. attempting to "wow us" with their Japanese oil, but it doesn't compare to what we have here already.

I've used it back to back on a dyno. Fresh ENEOS vs fresh Royal Purple. Picked up 7-9 HP throughout the RPM band. While not a substantial number in itself, it's pretty substantial gain over a highly regarded synthetic oil.

I have used this oil in the last year in a way which I would say is "severe duty"

-60 1/4 mile runs
-16 dyno pulls
2400 street miles.

Car is a 1994 Supra Turbo Single. It makes 512RWHP (620+HP at the crank) on pump gas. Car has 122,000 miles on it. I like this oil alot and will continue to run it.

I thought your Supra made 400HP and had a loss of compression in one cylinder? At least that's the info from your AutoRX thread. Curious as to why you'd throw more boost at an engine that has an obvious "bum lung" as per your compression test results.........

My compression results were perfect after Auto-RX. Not sure if the Auto-RX was the cause or if the initial compression test (I didn't do the initial compression test) was done improperly. I didn't add any more boost per se, just a larger turbo... :)

Ahhhhh, OK, makes more sense :D

Eneos is the old Nippon Oil Co. merged with Mitsubishi Oil in Japan. They sponsor Honda's F1 team.

I wouldn't assume their product is exotic or better, since they compete with Esso/Mobil 1, BP/Castrol, and Shell in Japan.

I would like to see actual results of their oil performance vs. what's out there.

What I thought was interesting was the offered to sell me the exact oil they use in the F1 car! It was an 0W70, but the cost was out of this world. IIRC it was on the order of $50-$60 per quart!! Makes for expensive oil changes!!
