Just changed the PCV valve on my 06' Odyssey. Somebody here suggested a bad PCV valve might have been a contributing factor to the oil leak I've been trying to fix. When I pulled it out, it was covered in oil and did not rattle when I shook it. I have the new PCV valve in the picture also for comparison.
I also took a pic of the inside of the crankcase. It definitely does not look as good as my wife's 07' Accord V6(130,000 miles. Inside looks brand new. No gunk or any staining whatsoever)
When I bought the Odyssey back in December 2011, it already had 115,000 miles on it. Right now it's sitting at 130,000. According to the Carfax, the car had all maintenance done at the dealership. Makes me wonder if the former owner actually brought the car in for oil changes in a timely manner. Or, could it be from the Cylinder Deactivation bit? Just don't know. I'm currently running Peak Synthetic in it. I plan to either use Maxlife or PU (Hooray for WM clearance sales!)next on 5000 OCI's in an effort to clean it up/out a little, if that's even possible.
