Found on a backup drive. 2012 on vaca in FL and I rented a Skyhawk out of Bunnell and took my friend and his son for their first GA flight. The airspace was unusually quiet, we were in between Spring Breaks, and the various controllers cleared us over the interesting sights from St Augustine to the Space Coast restricted area off the shore and back over land.

Nice aerial shot of the speedway. That’s a huge lake in the infield. There used to be a fishing tournament held there during race week. Not sure that’s even a thing anymore….

Do they do boat races in that lake?

Englishtown Raceway Park in Northern NJ had so many race tracks on it. They did boat races, had an airport, 1/4 mi drag strip, 1/8 mi jr dragster strip, motocross.

At Talladega you can see the old military air strip in the middle...

We just finished with three days of steady rain! Unusual for this time of year.
The whole infield is underwater at the moment, but it will drain quickly.
