Break in run.

For a breakin with such low miles, I would have used an orange can. Seems such a waste of a top notch filter. They are very nice pictures however.
Go for it. Never recall hearing any issues with a new engine using an OEM filter which likely is lower in efficiency than an orange can. With an engine going through break-in, you're going to have a lot of micro-asperities and other burs and leftovers from the machining process circulating through the oil. I like the highest filtration efficiency I can get. I'd use the XG8A like he did.
Fairly certain it is the upgrade to XF. Other XF forums I am on have had high-def images for a while as compared to what they used to be on UBB BITOG (even if I was hosting them and only posting links).Your picture or the New forum those pictures seem to have a lot more definition?

Why so low of miles???
I just ordered a FPS8A from Rock Auto for under $3, I am hoping to get about 20,000 miles out of it.

I noticed how FRAM paid attention to detail by grinding the base plate holes (pic #7) so as not to cause rips/tears in the ADBV.
Thanks for the C&P.
Great pics thanks for posting.
I might be wrong, but doesnt the TG have the same filtration rate as the XG? Both are 99% at 20 microns.
In your signature you state a 445 FE block/engine. Is this a 390 bored .060 over? Thanks, same camera, same host so must have something to do with the forum.
As noted it was a break in run. (see below for more info)
That's no issue. Ive run 7317's almost that long.
That would be your prerogative of course. Thank you. (see below for more info)
Yup, that is common to these and XG3600 IME, you're welcome.
Thank you
Might be right... I used TGs for the two VERY short runs.

This thread might answer some of your questions. I built this engine again, in my garage over a period of time. In spite of being completely dissembled and cleaned (several times) and many new parts I don't have a clean room and super precise parts like a new car would so i want to eliminate the possibility of any stay particles being floating around. It is a low usage vehicle as well, but it is a pretty big dollar engine (again), that is the answer to all your "why's".

I have built a few strokers in my day. 383=400 crank in a 350 block. It is a .030 over 360/390 block with an aftermarket 4.25 stroke crank... AKA a "Stroker".

I have Chevy Orange running thru my veins.
