Coonan or Wesson?

I know we are talking very different guns, but which should I choose? We are talking about range shooting, not self defense.

I'd get the CZ. That's more a matter of personal preference than anything else. I would be a little concerned that repeatedly shooting the .357 mag out of an automatic gun would lead to increased wear and stress. Better, IMO, for defense than target use.

For me, it would come down to whether I wanted something pretty unique (Coonan), or a hopped-up 1911-style .45, which are thick on the ground these days. If I were going to throw in any small-game/varmint hunting, I'd go for the Coonan.

For your money (or mine for that matter), I'd get the Coonan. Unique, apparently well engineered and made, USA! USA!, and can be adjusted to shoot .38spl. With a 5 inch barrel, you get more MV than a defensive revolver, and you can shoot 158gr. bullets with less recoil than in a revolver.

Coonan has a 3-4 month wait. DW I can get Wednesday.

Didn't know the wait on the Coonan was that long! guess it depends on how you feel about waiting. BTW, what caliber would you get in the DW?

The DW Valor only comes in .45ACP, standard 1911 fair.
