contemplating a new bike.

option of two up is required. zx14 is probably just fine, but i think the concourse is more of the department im hunting in, very sporty with all day comfort, two up optional. My wife pretty much refuses to climb on my R1 anymore stating its simply to uncomfortable. I understand what she's getting at.. In the past couple years weve had more fun going two up on our little ninja for a few hours of riding. yeah we look goofy but its fun.

Im not ready just yet to pull the trigger on a cruiser..

The best bike on the planet for its extreme versatility is a Ducati Multistrada 1200s Touring. There is not a better combination of power, handling and comfort in any motorcycle from any manufacturer. The cost of entry is a little steep but its worth the money.

Still in love/fascination/lust with the Moto Guzzi Norge 8V

I could afford it, but I'm pretty certain there would be some friction at home for buying a motorcycle more expensive than either of my cars.

Maybe a V7....

And I will park it right in the middle of my family's Harley Davidsons at the next family gathering.

"That's risotto burner to you!"

I just upload them to Smugmug (a photo hosting site that I highly recommend) and then just use the usual bitog features to post pics. Smugmug is a pay web service that costs about $40 a year and much of my extended family uses it.

Sorry about the delayed response......working lots of hours lately.

I bought my Honda (ST1300) last year when my BMW broke down 350 miles from home. I rode the Honda 370 miles in the dark and in the rain and felt fine the next day. Comfort, power and reliability. Their exhaust note is not sexy and sounds like a scooter from the Jetson's cartoon. I still own a BMW and a Yamaha but the ST1300 is a sport tourer without compromise.

+1, see my sig. Still breaking mine in, only got 80 miles in today around the local patch, 37 deg temps. No electric clothes, just Tourmaster textile gear with liners. Rode it home January 12th, 1230 miles as of today. If the roads are dry and the temps above 35, I'm on it. Downside is dealers are few and far between, had to go 100 miles to buy it.

I beg to differ on the ST1300 comfort, if you get stuck in city traffic it can get downright unbearably hot. Not bad in the fall/winter but I hated it in July. Perfect for touring though.

I like the Vstrom and Multistrada for bikes and the Burgman or Tmax for scooters. BMW has a new 650 Scooter too that I've heard good things about but it is pricey.

Great thread. I'm in the same boat. Stopped by the Big Four Japanese dealer this weekend to try 'em on. No doubt for me, the most comfortable one (in the showroom at least) was the Ninja 1000. Also, great reviews by the mags. As someone else already mentioned, those OE exhaust cans gotta go!
