Constant Dominican Republic ads on YouTube for the past month

On my YouTube ads feed I’m getting visit Dominican Republic advertising and I click skip button as soon as possible.

Why do I keep getting these ads if I’ve been clicking skip ASAP and onto the YouTube video.

Must have seen about 80 ads for Dominican Republic this month. I didn’t search anything related for vacation in the Caribbean. Zero interest in their beaches, hotels, food, nightlife, etc….

Why am I continually targeted ?

Before the war in Israel broke out, I was also getting tons and tons of visit Israel advertising.

So a while back, for about a week my youtube landing page had a short vid or two about "Life in the Philippines" and featured older usually pudgy balding white guys walking around a busy city at night with very pretty and very young girls. Hmmmm, what the heck did I surf (or say) that brought this to me?

I was rather irritated, manlily because it was somewhat offensive....but did it hit too close to home???

With Ublock origin I haven't seen a youtube ad in years.

It still works? Which browser? YouTube was starting to make videos not play or hang if you had a adblocker enabled. I saw a video recently where people weren't able to watch YouTube after they updated their software.

Maybe it's a regional advertising campaign or company for your region. I'm getting three, Domino's pizza, St. Judes hospital and a clothing company that I've never heard of before.

Lots of beaches in Florida to visit so flying to DR is out of the question.

I asked my wife and she would not want to go to DR if entire vacation was free.

The Israel advertising made it look like it’s a big Miami Beach.
She wasn’t looking anything for Israel before the war started.

I can understand daily pizza ads from 12 - 8 PM.

Chrome and Google disabled my Ublock Origin. How did you keep yours UBlock? I even reinstalled UBlock after the first time Google disabled it but a few weeks later they killed it again.

There's your problem.

Advertising companies neutering ad blockers in their products isn't really a surprise.

Look up "Manifest V3" in your search engine of choice for more background.

Yes, firefox and firefox based browsers still have the good version of ublock.

Only for the time being. They just have yet to specify when Edge will only support V3.

And if Google decides to push a change in Chromium, and plug the hole for good, it would also apply to every browser that employs it. Which is most of them not named Firefox or Safari.
