Got an 07 F150 with the 10.25" LS differential. A year or 2 ago, @ 20,000miles, I changed the factory fill to Amsoil 75W-140 Severe Gear. LOTS of chatter was immediately noticed, so I added Amsoil Slip-Lok additive. It required 3.5 bottles (14 ounces) till it finally quieted down. Then a few months ago (@ 35,000 miles), the chatter came back very noticeable. I again replaced the fluid, this time to SynGard 75W-140 synthetic. Again, chatter was severe, so I added Motorcraft LS additive. I have so far added 3 bottles of the stuff, and chatter is definitely still present when accelerating and turning from a stop. Should I add another bottle of additive, or what? I regret ever changing the factory fill, cause it NEVER acted up till I changed the fluid. Ford recommends 2 bottles in this particular diff.

He is speaking about the clutches in the LS differential.

Yes, as mentioned I'm referring to the clutch pack in the diff.

How about I add a 4th bottle of modifier? Is there any harm in doing so?

That is too much, I really think there is something physically wrong with the assembly.

Agreed. As long as the correct fluid is in there.

Likely no friction material left in the clutches if applicable, that is way too much "whale oil"!
