Calling Flat 12 a V-12

Calling it a flat 12 is what causes the confusions with all the blocks and cranks thrown into the morphing. Calling it a V12 at least won't ever cause any confusion. Whenever it were of importance to be distinguished from the other 358 V12s, it became the 180° V12 again.

Just don't call it a double six when in fact you've only got the Porsche. A double six could be everything from an H to an X-12, but never be german.

I'll call it a twin-six if it's a V, then...after the very first production 12 cylinder automobile engine.

A Packard innovation in 1915.
