Earlier I purchased a series 3 Braun shaver. Never again. If you left your whiskers grow for 2+ days you were screwed.

I went back to a Philips 3100 what a difference!!

I have a 10 year old Braun Series 7. Works great, can't go wrong with Braun IMHO. Replacement blades are a little expensive, but I think that's the case across the board for electric shavers.

I'd like to get the Series 9 but my 7 is still shaving nicely. I don't even bring the charger when going on a 2 week vacation, it will use half the battery at most. The rinse / renew station works great too. I'm not a hairy dude, but I do shave every day and it will tackle 3-4 day old beards just fine.

The one Braun not to buy is the Mobile Shave M60b. I used to carry one in my company car as a backup. For $20 not a bad deal right? It does not shave well at all. OK if you missed a spot but once I had to do my entire face and it was not pleasant!

I use a razor on my face. Tried electric shavers to shave my head, which I also, do mostly with a razor. I first tried a top of the line Norelco. Didn't do too well. Returned it and bought a Braun Series 3. Worked amazingly well. Darn near razor close. Have also bought the Series 5, 7 and 9 over the years. I supposed it will depend on everybody's personal preference and hair type.

I'm in the Braun camp. Used a Series 7 for a number of years, and recently bought a 9 when Costco put the pack on sale.

Since retiring a few months ago, I only shave 1-2 times per week. Currently, need a shave. As soon as the Braun finishes cleaning and charging, I'm going to see how it does on a week of growth. I normally use a razor with that much growth, but this will be a fun test...

Did you notice a difference between the Series 9 and 7?
Both provide an excellent shave. I had the original 7, not the newer 360 7, which has more pivot action. My 7 was more basic, but I loved that thing. It feels more robust than my 9 does. Not complaining exactly, but say'n. When Costo puts their version on sale, it's a good deal (relatively speaking). You can get a nice Panasonic for much less. It doesn't have the nifty cleaning station, though.

Oh, and my shave this afternoon, mowing down a week's worth of growth, went just fine. Took four minutes total.

If you don't have anything better to do, and don't mind a rabbit hole, thick out Shaver Check There is more info there about shavers there than you can ever imagine...

I have a Norelco and it is an execise in frustration. Yes it's more convienient than a blade. But if it's really gotta be close and sharp, it's always going to be a blade.

Never tried a Braun but I would consider it.
