Bosch 3502

Purchased a couple of Bosch Premium filters for my '18 Ford Edge on RA last month. Inspected them and found a large bolus of glue on the inside of the filter. Cut it open for closer look. Wow, QC at Bosch is terrible. This one was made in Mexico.

In the past I bought a box of Bosch filters from Rock Auto. Never had any issues. Yours is quite concerning.

Yeah, yours probably wasn't made in Mexico. They have some issues coming out of there.

I was grabbing a filter for my dad’s truck last week at Wally World, and picked up the appropriate Mobil and two different ones had a huge glue blob on the inside of the core at the point there the media comes into the end cap. Like larger than a pea. Pass. Looked at the equivalent to the FL820s I run on the explorer just for curiosity and same.

Similarly, I looked at one XG10060 and the lovers were closed, and the next you could count the pleats on the media they were so open. This is why I can’t buy from RA online in bulk. There is so much inconsistency out there. The budget filters have honestly been looking the best lately.
