@Rand saw my post about my new Behmor coffeemaker, and VERY generously sent me some of his home-roasted coffee beans (some excellent Bolivian Caranavi AAA) to try out in my new machine, and, let me tell you, he knows what he's doing!

Not only did he send me a very good quantity, but he also sent 3 different roast levels - his "regular" med-dark roast, which I'd describe as maybe an 8 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the darkest roast I've had. The second roast he sent was roasted for 30 seconds less than those (7), and, the third was his version of "medium", which I'd rate as a 5/10 with regard to roast.

Thoroughly enjoyed all, with the "2nd darkest" being my favorite!

Brew methods/grinders were the following:

- Fellow Ode (Gen 1) 64mm flat-burr electric grinder
- 1Zpresso X-Pro conical-burr hand grinder

- Behmor Brazen Plus v3 auto drip coffeemaker
- Hario V60 pourover dripper
- Chemex pourover dripper
- Mokapot

Thank you Rand!

Those were 1 year old beans too.. but the timer doesnt really start until after roasting.
If anyone wants to start roasting coffee I'd happily give out suggestions..
Not a pro.. but none of us are likely to go buy a $5000+ coffee roaster either :ROFLMAO:
The price of entry is around $500 to get a mostly automatic setup.
ie not roasting beans on the stove in a jiffypop.

PS if anyone wants to try something besides drip the AEROPRESS is on sale right now for $25
