I recently came across this company, Big Red Oil Products (http://bigredoil.ca/), when trying to find better motor oil prices. I thought at first they only sell in bulk, but it turns out they also sell in cases of 12 x 1 quarts and 3 x 5L jugs.

They apparently have their own semi-synthetic and synthetic motor oils sold under their name (Big Red) - the sales rep was kind enough to share the spec sheets with me. Has anyone used or heard of this oil before? Would you all be able to give me some cursory info on the quality based on the spec sheets? I'll try finding some UOAs in the mean time.

Semi Synthetic Spec Sheet: https://www.scribd.com/document/320566948/Big-Red-Semi-Synthetic-PCMO-Spec-Sheet
Price for semi-synthetic is CAD $28.00 for a 12 x 1 quart case (+ EHC and tax) - works out to CAD $2.47/litre or USD $1.79/quart

Full Synthetic Spec Sheet: https://www.scribd.com/document/320566949/Big-Red-Full-Synthetic-PCMO-Spec-Sheet
Price for full synthetic is CAD $60 for a 3 x 5 litre case (+EHC and tax) - works out to CAD $4.00/litre or USD $2.91/quart

I didn't inquire about that. I think they are more accustomed to bulk orders so shipping would be included, perhaps? I'll check with the sales rep.

Their offices are in Pickering so you could probably just go pick it up yourself.

Now THAT is what a PDS should look like! Yeah, I'm looking at you Castrol.

I find it odd that the full syn oils are without/short on B and Moly and all but the 0W-20 has a Na add pack. I wonder why they are not all consistent?

Big Red is near me, as I live in Durham Region. I've contacted them as well re: specs sheet. I hope to get it soon.
They seem a bit reluctant to give this out. It's not on their website to just see for yourself as a potential customer. ODD !

Do you have most recent version of the specs for this oil ?

A four year old thread resurrection?

About all you can say is that their products do appear on the API EOLCS Directory:

API Listing

If you get them cheaper than some other API licensed oil then they will be no better or no worse. Getting a spec sheet from them isn't going to tell you that.
