Very good sheet & Great work.
I will say that STP goes through different companies for their rebranded filters but it appears the model numbers listed above are Champ labs.
Is this an actual valid change since the notice is dated 5/23/2024. Are these filter changes actually showing up on the shelves in AutoZones? That's the real confirmation on info over a year old.
That "Product Change Notice" is dated 5/23/2024. Funny how they tout the design changes to make it flow better, when in reality it probably lowered the dP a PSI or two at 10 GPM of flow.
Aren't the STP XL filters currently at AutoZone made in Asia and look similar to PGI construction? Maybe only some STP models are Champion Labs these days. Welcome to the game of oil filter Whack-A-Mole, lol.
Section 1.2 shows two specific part numbers. Were there more filter part numbers listed in Section 1.2 (it's cut-off)?

The original item is a 5 page pdf, which I can't post, & when I converted to jpeg it only copied one page at a time, & they posted out of order. I left out the last page as it only had a few part numbers.

Locally the AZ STP XL and some basic blue STP have been have been Champ Labs made for a long time. Never seen, or for a long time, the PG made XL. It's always been AZ region specific which XL filter maker seen. It appears what this notice is showing is that 'where the STP XL and basic blue can' have been CL made the long time ecore auxiliary/outer base plate now removed by Champ. Same as AC Delco. That leaves only the protruding thread boss baseplate design as shown on right side. 'I' would not conclude that going forward this means 'all' STP XL and basic blue will be Champ Labs made.
The base plate cover was just an extension of the usual can crimp metal. I would guess they cut it back to save costs on metal. Most of this metal is probably imported, how else can they make oil filters so cheap. Made in USA from global materials is on so many things even food.
