That's because there are only a handful of currently produced iPhone models, so the pie gets divided into fewer (and larger) slices, percentage wise. Compare that to thousands of Android phone models available.

If iOS devices have 46% market share in the US, this would mean majority are non-iOS.

Still impressive for one brand to have such a high market share.

If you are "online"... and use Google, Facebook, Android etc... There is NO PRIVACY. All of it can be tracked. Unless you're an IT specialist that understands VPN's, Linux based systems... You are at risk. That's all there is to it.

And with zero proof, says apple is better with privacy control.

Must not know how API integrations work. Any and pretty much all apps have APIs that can and will track you. Even some cars will automatically determine where you live and work for GPS.

There is privacy for those who fight the companies you mention but many like yourself do not care and lets me stress one more time, that's ok but do not say there is not a way.

Quattro = I simply posted a "story" posted by a leading Android site showing the top 5 best selling phones in the USA were iPhones.
They were shocked, I had no other agenda ...) ... and I know you dont either ... I think )

Lets face it, if the top five selling phones in the USA were from Samsung, many in here would be pointing that out, but its not Samsung, its APPLE. I dont know, but sooner or later, if a quality product produced by an American company comes along, not part of my decision process but feels good we still win at some things. Many in here based on these posts will root for the overseas companies and that's ok too!

They were shocked,

I am shocked that they were shocked.

I offered a pretty simple explanation of why that is. Hope it was clear. It has nothing to do with iOS being superior. It has everything to do with Apple offering fewer choices to the market. With that said, those fewer choices appear to be good ones, as shown by the sales numbers. Having too many models/versions/flavors isn't always a good thing.

Yeah, financial transactions makes me a tiny bit nervous on my wifes (my former Android phone) but lets face it, tens of millions do everyday.

I do feel much more secure banking on my iPhone, heck, I never, ever, ever even seen my bank! *LOL*
Its a credit union around a 1000 miles away from me. I do maintain a local bank account that I can transfer funds but rarely use it.
Everything I do is online or on my phone, including depositing checks and sending payments. I honestly can not tell you a time in the last few years that I walked into a bank.

I believe iPhones have the top 5 selling phones in the USA simply because its a cutting edge American Technology Company with a superior reliable secure product and most of all, what used to be expensive, is no longer, all the overseas phones are the same and more expensive then iPhone for their upper tier models. So just because hands down Android with Google wins the world wide race, its simple, its cheap and free system in exchange for your privacy.

... and as much as some people (who will never ever, ever) own an iPhone trash the company, those in the know, know that Apple is built on security and most of all the right to privacy, privacy is their company philosophy and why the ONLY reason I say "you can take a horse to water but ..."

There will always be people who trash the company and say its not true, but, they are flat out wrong and offer nothing but flat out nonsense, its ok to be wrong, heck we all are at times, but you read the silly comments ... anyway, I said enough for the hundreds? who read this thread but dont comment, you can bet a lot of them agree ... so you can "take a horse to water but ... "

Im giving this thread a rest now, to the point I am talking myself in circles )

I wouldn't trust that simply disabling the apps is sufficient. Remove them 100%.

Also, where do you download apps from ? Please don't say the Google App Store.

I do banking on my Android often. I'm not concerned. Had some money stolen from my checking account a couple years ago. My bank reimbursed me.
