Thoughts/Comments? Can you describe some of the values listed with the TBN? What is NITR and OXID?

I'm a little confused - was this a rebuilt? So most of the metals are break-in?

Is the Camaro driven hard? What kind of fuel? What kind of oil was used before?

In simple terms Nitration and Oxidation are relative numbers that show the amount of chemical and heat degradation the oil is showing. Essentially meaningless as a standalone number. With most oils a virgin run of the exact same batch of oil can be compared, or as most folks do compare it to the same oil run previously in their cars.

Amsoil not thickening is becoming a habit.

Yes...rebuilt 9,671 miles ago. At roughly 2,500 miles the engine was changed over from dino to Amsoil.

Driven hard, but idled lots last Winter...Premimum Unleaded.

Good to see Amsoil staying in grade more and more. Since this is a rebuild, it's likely that the amount of iron, lead, and silicon is due to break-in. After a change or two, they should lower.

Looks like they're still tweaking the latest additive chemistry.

Results look very good in any event.
