Amazon deliveries too early. Can time be changed?

Amazon often shows up to my place very early.

This morning the car was here @ 4:22a.

The Amazon car ( not a truck with a name on it). Woke us up.

Woke the dog up who barked loudly and woke up the 3 year old who began screaming until 6:30.

So much for a good night's rest.

I would like to close my gate. But there is no place to turn around if I do so and I end up having to rescue the delivery person when they try to turn around and get stuck.

Making a turn around spot near the gate is not in the cards right now as I would have to bring in lots of dirt and tractor work .

Moving the road isn't possible.

Also having a car show up unannounced at that time is worrisome. Especially with no name on the door.

Other than stopping Amazon deliveries what can I do?

When I order on Amazon when I have Prime it usually asks me if I want early delivery 4-8am or 8am-noon.

I don’t always have Prime, just depends on what trial or promo they are giving, but here’s the thing… even if you don’t have Prime or pick a later delivery time, if Amazon has someone in the area, they’ll deliver it at whatever time is most sensible for them.

If it’s delivered by a random car not an Amazon truck it’s a private person doing gig work through Amazon flex, FYI. A lot of people wonder about that. Pretty cool system IMO.

I never have an option for delivery time.

Sh actually ordered this thing 4 days ago. Was supposed to be here last thursday.

That's strange.
All that I can think of then is that you are serviced by an independent contractor and that he/she is an early riser and is close enough to your residence that you are one of his/her first stops.

Make a sign:
PRIVATE PROPERTY GATE AHEAD
DELIVERIES ACCEPTED 8 AM - 10 PM ONLY
NO PLACE TO TURN AROUND AHEAD -- IF YOU ENTER THIS ROAD WHEN THE GATE IS LOCKED YOU WILL NEED TO BACK UP TO HERE OR WAIT UNTIL DAYTIME

Normally I have an option of time for delivery. I suppose that may be withdrawn once the delivery is late.
I'd place a box at an easy access point at your property. Tell them to leave it in there, which you can do on delivery instructions or make a sign. If you're worried you can also add a padlock and request they lock it upon delivery.

That's not really an option. The road to my place is very narrow with a cliff on one side and a hill on the other. Only place to turn around is right by my house.

Bummer about the baby waking. I'm another one that typically sees options about delivery times.

Honestly, though, how often does something like describe happen? Not often, I'd bet.

As an aside, there is an Amazon Fresh grocery store right up the street, and they have great prices. Went up there to drop off a couple of returns, and walked out with a nice supply of stuff for the refrig. Cheep beer, too!

Does Amazon have any locker locations near you?

I did not know a locker existed. Looks like one is about 20 min away 1 way . I will ask the boss lady about changing the delivery times.

Between the mother in law and us it happens about once a week but this morning was especially annoying.

Sometimes at check out you will get a time delivery choice. See if that is available on the item and change the time.

You may also consider a delivery drop box at the place where they can turn around.

That’s what men do in our rural area
