Aluminum wheel prices and core prices

Lately at my work; hardly any manufacturer has a core charge for aluminum wheels. I remember 18 years ago when I started there was at least a $75+ core charge. Anyone else notice this?

Have a safe and great holiday weekend folks. I’ll be headed to Carlisle PA tomorrow morning to see nephews and family and there all next week.

Ford has core charges on wheels still. I think it is $50 on most.

What is the core charge for? I can see it for items that can be rebuilt, but wheels can't be rebuilt...
