2016 2500HD. I have done a couple changes with an extractor, I get about 3 quarts out. Those were done with the truck parked on an incline facing uphill.

Question - if I turn the truck around so that the truck is facing downhill, am I likely to get any more fluid out?

doesnt hurt to try, i heard trannys can basically run low on fluid at idle so i doubt it would damage anything when u reverse it to face it diff way

Probably not. The tube inserts roughly mid-pan (take a look at it or a pic). Doing it on level ground is likely best.

I have the same transmission and on level ground using a vacuum and 3/8 inch OD plastic tubing through the transmission dipstick tube, all I can get out is 1-1/2 quarts. It’s a 2008 3/4 ton Suburban. I believe the tube hits the top of the transmission filter.

Ok thanks all. Level ground isn't really an option. I will probably give it a shot just to see how it goes, maybe I'll even do the right thing and report back!
