Corolla just rolled over 300k miles!! (Well, 480k km actually;-) Using about a quart every 1500km. Runs like a top. Determined to keep this baby goin' forever....ish.
Anyone else runnin' hyper-300k? What oil/filter combo? Consumption rate?

Nope, just lots of 220-230k vehicles currently with original transmissions and no consumption.

What kind of maintenance have you had to do, especially over the last 150k miles or so?

Nice...interesting oil choice - you might be the only member on here running Rotella 'SB' 0W-40. I like the specs on that oil. If your Canadian Tire starts stocking it, will you be trying Rotella 'T' 5W-40?

Just plugs, wires, ECT sensor, PCV valve (on the advice of BITOG). Various suspension components (struts, sway bar links, etc)

I'll consider it for sure. I'm currently looking for a 40 weight high mileage, but haven't had any luck here in Newfoundland yet.

haaaaa sounds like it. Sold it with 180k. Used 1qt every 3k miles. Ran like new the day I sold it. So much for oil consumption always being a "bad" thing.

Good luck. I've never, ever seen a 40-weight HM oil in Canada. Just not enough demand for that grade up here. Maxlife 10W-40 looks like a great oil, but good luck finding a distributor that might be able to get it for you.

Mobil is supposed to be bringing its 'AFE' oils to Canada in June or July...I'm wondering if at some point they will bring the M1 'HM' oils over as well, as they now have a 5w30 grade (most of what is sold up here is 5w30 or 10W-30).

Question: Is your consumption the same with the 0W-40 oil, or has that reduced it at all? I would think a 40-weight HDEO would reduce consumption significantly....

consumption has gone down a bit.Previous fill was PP 10w-30 and consumption was about 1 q per 1000km.

My old 91 Ranger 3,0 V6 had 180,000 miles on it when I gave it to my son. It now has 330,000 mile and still runs great. As when I owned it he still uses M1 10-30. I always changed at 10,000 OCI and he shoots for that but I know he has lets it go to 15,000 miles a couple of times. From birth that truck used a qt. every 3500 miles and still does. No change. I saw him three weeks ago and he was due fo another change. Pulled the dip stick and the oil was that nice amber colar and the Ranger still runs great.

There is a guy with a 2006 Honda Civic EX with about 350k miles on it already (yeah, you read that right!) running AMSOIL SSO 0w30 for lonngggg intervals. I can provide a link to his ongoing progress. He's documenting his repairs and so forth....replaced the clutch himself around 250k-300k IIRC.

Drive it to 500K KM and take it back to Toyota and see if they use you in a commercial and/or give you a new vehicle.

Hahaha...that thought actually crossed my mind once she broke 450k!

I'm driving my Santa Fe to 500K KM whether it likes it or not and I intend to go back to Hyundai and see what I can get out of 'em

Maybe just a handshake, but we will see.

The dealer I bought mine from is the #1 dealer in Canada for sales volume so I assume they have a bit of pull with corporate.

I'd love to see this link.

While that speaks well for Amsoil, it could probably have been done with any oil IMO. An '06 with that many miles on it in such a short period of time means the oil is always hot and the engine spends most of its time running which only prolongs its life. The start-up/shut-down temperature changes is what really kills and engine over its life IMO.

He was actually at 375k when he hit a deer hard enough to stop his driving. His insurance is considering the car totalled, but we'll see....he's capable enough of repairing it.

125k miles a year.....jeebus.
