As the title states 2k 6 month run on 5w30 RP HPS. Been running RP since 500 miles and HPS since 10k. Truck currently has 19k.

16 iron is unacceptable for 2k miles on a 19k truck. I have seen much better results right on this forum, as low as 7 iron on 2k mile run. I'd switch ro another oil if I were you. Try Amsoil SS 0w30 next or Redline 5w30

Its a little high but not anything I'd worry about with only 19k on a Pentastar PUG. My JL 3.6 PUG took a long time for the iron to come down as break-in progressed. I didn't do any runs that short but it took a surprising amount of miles for it to settle down. I've seen others do the same.

I have looked at 3.6s under 20k and can't find any with iron in single digits. Some are actually a little higher even with a little more miles on the motor.
Not true. Look at my lil Jeep's UOA, as good as it gets. I am loving this oil.

This one was before this, on Red Line 0W-20. Single digit again. High Silicon was because of a stupid dirty pump I used to take the sample.

I did almost single digit even when I was at 11,000 miles. This UOA is also at 2000 miles like yours.

But it is comparing apples and oranges. OP's vehicle is a heavy Gladiator, probably hauling. Mine is a tiny lightweight 2 door Wrangler that has even its rear seat removed. The only stress it is under are the 37" MT tires. But 4.88 gears even make that a non issue. My lil Jeep is a rocket ship, give a little gas and it flies.

It's common knowledge on here that UOAs are not for determining a best oil. They are to determine an engine's health. Blackstone has been on the record of saying any oil that is in the correct grade and API service level will be indistinguishable when comparing to any other oil of the same grade and service level from a wear metal perspective in UOAs.

My engine looks in good health. Next UOA after 20,000 miles, not so soon.

Those are great reports, but at 2000 miles or less, so those samples were Downy fresh. That´s like checking the contents of a toilet bowl after a guy only had time to fart in it.

That said, those are great oils. I´d run them a helluva lot longer than 2k.

They say wear is not linear. So if I had run AFE 0W-30 for three times longer or 4,500 miles, iron would not have been 3 x 4 = 12?

It isn´t perfectly linear, but longer runs equal more wear metal. I have done 2k, 5k, 7k, 8k, and the longer the run, the more wear metal. Linear means straight line. It will be crooked, but the trend goes up. Have OP leave it it in there next time for 5k and in a Pentastar, I guarantee the iron will be higher. And as far as Blackstone or whoever saying no difference in oils, that´s BS, too. I have seen it. Consistently the lowest iron I have seen in my Jeeps was with Shell Rotella Gas Truck. Let Blackstone explain that. I´ll eat popcorn. I saw that pattern with two Jeeps with two different engines. An older 3.8 and the Pentastar. I had a bunch of RGT i had bought on clearance and ran several runs in each Jeep and my daughter´s Renegade. I did not do a UOA on the Renegade 2.4, but I´d bet a sawbuck it would have shown the same against other oils.

One more thing...I remember over the course of a few years Mobil 1 would consistently produce higher iron in UOA´s, too. Across all kinds of engines here on Bitog. It didn´t mean it was wearing engines out, it was just a consistent data point and it was a little higher. There was all kinds of specuguessing as to why. Maybe it was doing more cleaning? That was one of the more popular thoughts, IIRC.
