Very interested in the all-new 2020 Explorer. It's finally RWD again! And y'all know I love cop cars so I might wait and instead of picking up an ex-police Charger or Tahoe in the next year or so I might hold out for a year or two extra and pick up one of these.

Anyone driven one or work in a department that's going to get these or has one/some already? Curious about long-term reliability and ease of maintenance.

Just stay outta my rear view mirror! I don't need a heart attack while driving 3mph over posted limit! LOL

Weren't the exploder's poisoning the cops with carbon monoxide or possibly after a hard shift of eating donuts and rousting the brothers they just needed to nap and blamed their ford?

I'm curious about the ST, naturally... 400HP TT V6? Yes please!

Meanwhile FCA is over there with a yawn inducing 360HP 5.7L HEMI. Explorer already outsells the Durango, I think this will finally drive FCA to do... something.

Didn't Explorer previously share a platform with Taurus ? So it's unshackled with that car out of the mix …

Yeah, but any vehicle produced now-a-days is "shackled" to some other, possibly on a different continent.

To Reddy45: You know the answer....don't go 3mph over the posted limit!

Yet my police Taurus is AWD. Go figure.

How much oil does the PTU hold on that Taurus?

Power Transfer Unit … basically a transfer case known to cook a tiny volume of oil

Some only hold 18 Oz and about 14 Oz is changed on drain and fill.
They are located close to the exhaust and get hot.
Point is the oil turns to goo and they fail. Not easy to change the oil either.
