2019 Ford truck transmission change

Hello friends, I’m doing a transmission fluid change in a 2019 F150 XL Ford truck, it has the 3.3 L
What fluid would you recommend what brand, thank you

Motorcraft Mercon ULV
Ford part number: XT-12-QULV

The 10R80 requires Mercon ULV only. Do not substitute Mercon LV

Alternative is Valvoline ULV ATF

A lot is going to depend on what transmission is in that truck. It looks like you could still get the 6R80 with the 3.3L which would take Mercon LV. If it has the 10 speed it would take Mercon ULV.

I think his truck may have the 6 speed, not the 10 speed automatic, but Ford still lists the Mercon ULV fluid, not the LV, for it in the service info.

Amsoil ATL is my pick. Not cheap, but I’m a real believer in Amsoil’s ATF and gear oils. Very good products and experience with them.

ATL is an LV fluid, not an ULV one as Ford specifies.

When I look up a 2019 with the 3.3, it shows the 6R80 with is an LV fluid.

What he said. Verify which trans you have and LV if it is a 6 speed or ULV if it is a 10 speed. You won't go wrong following that.

LV is far easier and cheaper to find than ULV as well. Lots more choice.

That website is misleading. The 6R80 takes LV, period. If it’s the 10R80, then you would use the ULV. 2019 trucks had more than one trans option.

Ford seems inconsistent on this. This Motorcraft chart shows LV fluid for all 6r80 six speeds.

It shows that you have the 6r80 6 speed transmission, which is one of Ford's better ones. Motorcraft says use Mercon LV fluid in it, and that's what all the earlier years used, so that's what I would use in it.

O'Rielly's says it "meets the OEM requirements" for Mercon LV. I would use it if I already had it.

I went back and returned it. It’s less than a mile. This is what I got it Mecron 5LV
