Yesterday I finished up on my Bypass build.
Used a Wix 24755 housing and a Wix 51050 Filter.
Built a manifold from 1/4 npt brass fittings. In the Hose barb leaving the manifold I tapped for 1/8 npt to install a restriction plug. .032 hole.

took a sample before running the bypass and will report back after 500 miles with new PC results.

@ 59 hours /40548 miles
PC 21/18/13 >4= 17281/ >6 = 1625 / >14 = 43

@ 82 hours /41415 miles

PC 22/18/13 >4 = 21268 / >6 = 1933 / >14 = 74

I am interested,,,what is the filter element rating ? We used them on forklifts that had bypass filters .

My B164 came in yesterday. I will be posting PC results after the holiday. By then i should have enough miles to see a valuable change. would be nice to find a little better filter without having to go to the Amsoil. don't care for the idea of $50 a pop.

What would be really impressive is if you could tie the results of these PCs to UOA data.
IOW - show that the effort actually pays a dividend in wear control, not just particle control.
Don't talk to me about theory; show me da money!

Is this good enough data for ya.
I'm running my samples in house, the only data i don't have access to is getting a proper fuel dilution.

these are current samples and a VOA. next sample will be with the bypass running.

Interesting ...
Metals tracked down to the tenth or hundredth? What kind of R&R does the equipment exhibit?
The wear metals are going up (most of them double?) in such a very short duration? And this is after the BP install?

This is confusing. Am i reading this correctly? These are PPM? Either I'm not following, or this is not impressive at all.

Key word in last line before the results.( next sample will be with bypass)

This is pre install with M1 5w30 and oem cartridge filter. Ill post up the initial tomorrow with first 200 miles of bypass. Just pulled the sample this evening.

Yes the metals are in ppm. Rotode spectrometer that reads in the hundredths. I just round to the nearest whole.

Well clearly I missed that !!! Sorry.

Look forward to the data.

Well, filter has already started to show improvements with only 125 miles. PC is down slightly so I'll continue on my normal 10% testing regiment. I'm not going to give too much reading into the spectrometry until it has more time to filter.

@dnewton3 Its all good. We all sometimes miss things.

Final result with Wix 51050 element was a 20/17/12 iso count with 14.1 ppm iron at 187 hours on the oil.

Starting the test with a donaldson b5 =1000. I would at least expect some reduction in the PC

1000 mile report with the Donaldson p564967 Filter and 0w40 M1

VOA showed 20/18/14 as the starting particle count

Looks like starting to make some progress. These are both the same oil just ran it twice to verify.

Sadly, I admit to being utterly fascinated. I'm such a nerd! Thank you for the detailed results. Looking forward to more.

The only bypass filter I run is a 0.5 micron motorguard air filter, converted to oil. I use it on my Listeroid diesel genset. The engine has no filter at all and no pressurized bearings. Just squirt nozzles. So I tapped into the oil gallery and bypassed a little through the motorguard. The discharge lubes a bushing that is typically on the dry side. But, no data. Just a clunky old engine.

Thank you Cujet,
This is a fun little project for me, Im doubtfull it will prolong the motors life but its enjoyable to see the changes.

Side note

PC Vol is in PPM based on sump volume.
