Myself and a few Techs from my department had to take a driving safety class for work today. The Safety guy giving the course grabbed a Kia Sorrento from the few Hertz rentals we had onsite. It must have been a 2007. It was scratched up badly, had 13Kmi on it, but was very clean and new on the inside. We were all very impressed at the interior comfort, ride, handling and power of this smallish truck. Very comfortable for 4 'full sized' occupants, but that's about it. It was kind of funny because we all got a little too aggressive on the go pedal at our first attempts. Sitting in the back, you noticed a rumbly exhaust note, but it was quiet up front. Really nice interior and switchgear quality. Way better than we expected. This body on frame 4x4 is not for most of us anymore with gasoline the price it is, but for a tow, fleet or offroad vehicle they seem like a good fit. I believe the 3.5L V6 has chain driven cams and Kia uses an Aisin-Warner AT in them. Nice feel to the drivetrain.
