Would you use an 0W20 blend or would you go full synthetic? The Honda dealer says that is the recommended oil for the newer Accords with 4 cyl.

Would depend on my OCI. If an OCI of 6K and less Id use the blend, if longer I'd use the full syn. Depends on the the price difference.

Honda 4 cyl are getting good results going 10,000 miles and more with name brand synthetics. Why not take advantage of this longer OCI?

There is virtually no difference between the two oils so I'd probabily go with the syn' blend. By the same token there is also very little price difference, so whatever.

How are you certain of the base oil quality from the VI alone?

How are you certain that the additive package is identical?

Honda Accord 4 cyl are getting good results even with store brand conventional . This engine is very gentle on oil. I'd use syn blend with OCIs under 10,000 and synthetic otherwise.

They're virtually identical as much as a VOA will tell you.
Honestly considering the marginal price difference between the two oils it would make no business sense to go to the cost of formulating two different oils.
As best as I can make it out, it's all about marketing, giving the consumer a perceived choice.
