Where can I find it at? Ive looked in all of my local auto stores and they only have the 75W-90 and 140 gear oils. Ive seen reviews that it is the best for shift quality in many transmissions. Better than oem, amsoil, and redline in some cases. It is made specifically for manual trans that spec atf.

There are also no shortage of testimonials in all the various car blogs about how synchromax performed worse than those other you mentioned. Some better, some worse, some the same. It varies from car to car and transmission to transmission. It's not a cure all or else I'd be using it in my manual trans T56. It's certainly not "the best." It's a choice. From all my readings with Tremec manual transmissions in GM vehicles, the RL and Amsoil typically get better reviews than the synchromax. But you'll find no shortage of those who love each of those brands.

RL D4 and Amsoil ATF Torque Drive are also ATF's that are well geared to manual Transmissions requiring ATF's. The Amsoil ATF TD generally gets great reviews among the C4/C5/C6 Vette crowd. Mobil ATF is somewhat in this mix and is the Honda synthetic ATF. From the hundreds of pages of blogs I've read on this subject, Synchromax would be the last one of this group I would try for any manual transmission spec'd for ATF.

I was one of those testimonials, since when I still had my LS1 4th gen Z28, I tried this stuff once in it's T56, and dumped it out that very same day!

Whatever their "Synerlec" additive actually is composition/friction modifier wise, it did NOT 'play well' with that gearbox's blocker rings and synchros AT ALL, since it ground in every gear, and generally shifted very poorly.

On the other hand, some have used it in my current car's IB6 Getrag transaxle, and outright SWEAR BY this stuff, and think it is better than the best thing since sliced bread, so

.

Yes, as 28oz above asks, what app is this going into?

I clicked on this thread because when I was looking for MTL's a couple of weeks ago I found lots of bad feedback on Syncromax.

I ended up going with Redline.

That's generally what I found when looking at Synchromax in Tremecs. While the reviews were generally 90% positive overall, there was a sizable group of people like DailyDriver above who said it just didn't work for them....a few claiming it damaged their trans within weeks/months. That's a risk I was unwilling to take. With the other fluids and OEM's, the negative reviews were much fewer. In fact you would be hard pressed to find any testimonials on those other fluids stating it degraded or ruined their transmission. In the case of DailyDriver, there's no doubt his transmission would have been toast if the continued with the RP. 90% or more of Synchro Max users seem to be satisfied. What I can't say is if they were still satisfied 1-5 yrs later...or if the next owners were satisfied too.

you can get almost anything on-line!! my preference is Redline that made my poor shifting O2J VW shift well, put it in my O2M in the TT + recently changed ALL the lubes in my new to me 2011 Nissan Frontier, got best price delivered on E-bay, check Redlines site for recommended lubes.
