Does anyone out there in oil land have any knowledge as to how this oil works as an internal engine cleaning oil?
Thanks 2015_PSD! You are a great person and may God Bless you!

Based on PQIA data it appears to be similar to Quaker State and Pennzoil looks like it may be at least partly GTL at least in 5W30.

Any recommendations or opinions in a 2004 F150 5.4 3 Valve engine?

I'd use it confidently in that application, no problems. Not only a name brand, but a quality product. Their gasoline is toptier rated because of the detergents in it. I doubt they skimp on their oil. One quart of this at the Shell station here is listed for $5.99.

Appears to be similar to Quaker State conventional, which makes sense as it is the "budget tier" from SOPUS.

I've run it in the past in the SM flavor for 5000-8000 mile intervals in my Subaru. No complaints, just switched to an easier to find oil when I moved to an area where I couldn't find Formula Shell outside of grocery stores/gas stations for $5+ a quart.

i used to buy it on sale on Menards all the time could be had for 2.99 regular price and often on sale for 1.99 a quart but sadly Menards has canned a lot of their shell products and went with mainly valvoline products recently so now no more formula shell and i don't even know where else to get it.

I've used it in a few different applications. even a bunch of friends vehicles. Never had a problem and never heard a bad thing about it. Up here it sells for a pretty good price.

I've used oil from the local Canadian Tire, 3 or 4 of their store brands. All made by Shell. I've used Formula Shell, Qaker Sate and PYB. I can't tell the difference, they are all good.

I've used it before. Good oil. The 5L synthetic FS is better deal than the Napa synthetic at times, when they are both on sale. Synthetic FS was as low as $21.99 last year at some point.

Sorry somehow I read the OP as Synthetic.

I wouldn't worry using for recommended interval in a typical car. Oil is oil unless you're maxing your towing capacity, drag racing, or competing in LeMans...or trying to extend your oil changes to a maximum interval. If you're trying to clean an engine with oil, it's either not dirty enough to really need cleaning or you're hoping for a miracle when you really need to tear it down and clean it out, IMO.

I buy it frequently.

Home Depot had it on sale recently for $9.88 a five quart jug. I picked up a couple jugs of 10W-30 for my Volvo 240. From what I can tell, it's like Quaker State green bottle, so that's good enough for me.

Is this the conventional or the synthetic?
The synthetic was almost identical to Amsoil OEM according to PQIA.
Ran the synthetic in my turbo Focus ST with no problems. Unfortunately BJ's stopped carrying it.

I'd buy that!

Conventional.
We are doing a clean up on my sons 2004 F150, 5.4 3Valve, 41K mile engine and was curious to know if the FS5W30 can do a good cleaning job, or, help.

Not sure how good it is to clean old gunk, most people here lean towards PYB for that task. Should be almost as cheap.

If he's got crud in his engine you can see (my mind can't figure out what that's a pic of...probably something I'll say, "oh, duh" when you say) just run a couple of short OCIs with the FS. I'd say a M1, PP, or PU would be the best "cleaning" oils. But they cost the most. Run something cheap for a few months /3k miles and see if it looks better after draining. What does he use it for if its 12 years old with 40 miles? How often does it get driven? How far? How often does he change oil? What oil does he use?
