I am planning a driving trip with the family to see my sister in Mass, its exactly 450miles to and 450miles from so the trip will be like 1000 miles (we'll be doing some site seeing).

My question is: Im currently at about 2400+/- miles into my ARX cleaning phase and according to the website your suppose to change the oil at 2500 miles.

Should I change the oil and filter before heading to Mass, which I will be leaving this coming weekend, or is it ok/better for me to go anyway and just change the oil/filter upon returning back, my total mileage for the cleaning phase will end up being close to like 3,400 miles after returning from the road trip. The current oil im running with the ARX is Pennzoil yellow bottle 5w30.

I know as per some UOA's that YB has shown good results well pass the 3000mile mark, but I just want to get the members feedback on whats best that i should do. My vehicle is a 2002 dodge caravan 3.3L with 106,000+/- miles on it current

Keep the oil with ARX in there. ARX needs heat to work well. Your sustained freeway speeds will help achieve this. If in doubt, do a filter change, top up oil and get on your way to ensure the filter does not go into bypass.

not sure how dirty the engine is, but I did AX on 3 vehicles last year. One doesn't make enough mileage in a year to worry about, but the other two I ran ARX for 5K miles, rinse 5K miles and clean 5K miles. In other words, I dind'nt change any sooner than I would have if ARX were not in there.

I ran my ARX clean phase for about 5-6k. It wasn't intentional, I just never got around to changing it.

No ill effects as far as I can tell.

ok good enough, i should good to just keep it in there then, on top of everything i forgot to mention im using a FL-1A oil filter which is of course larger then the standard size filter for this vehicle which in turn i had to put more then the standard amount of oil in the vehicle so im driving with more oil then normal :) ... also the engine was not that dirty to begin with, seems the previous owner did a decent job at changing the oil ever 5,000 km with mopar from the dealer.

I intend to run the treatment phase at least 3000 miles this time on my '95 Civic as well as the rinse phase. It has dino oil in it this time (Chevron Supreme 5w30) so it should be even more effective than it was with the prior two ARX'ings.

I figure that as long as your engine isn't TOO befouled with sludge then extending it just a bit won't hurt.

IIRC the first recommendation was 750 miles, then 1500, then 2000 and now 2500 on the treatment phase...

I would look at the appearance of the oil on the dip stick, at least. If it is blackened then dump, change filter, and refill for the trip. You will be getting a good head start on the rinse phase. If the oil looks healthy, then do a filter swap as previously suggested.
