    Preferred Diesel Additive?

I only question it in the context of average winter low temperatures in relation to the average cloud point of no.2 diesel. I don't live in Tampa or anywhere else in Florida, but a quick look at average winter temperatures for the last 30 years makes it seem irrational to offer no.1 diesel since...

Has anyone in here applied to beta test Elon Musks internet service?

No I haven't applied. But I have to add that we can only hope that Starlink fails since it is fundamentally wrong to allow ONE company to pollute the night sky all in the name of internet access and profits. Sure the people at Starlink claim they are darkening the satellites but inevitably...

    Diesel booster 2249

Never heard of it. Sounds bogus, and I wouldn't trust a data sheet that someone did a poor job of typing or translating. Plus I just love this line "Improvement of the pleasure and comfort of driving", please, sounds like something a Ronco product might advertise.

    What's in your grease gun???

Glad I'm not the only one. Geez does that stuff make a mess. Switched to Paragon 3000 and zero issues. Can't find it locally but an easy mail-order.

    Increasing hostility on BITOG

I wasn't complaining. Just an observation. I appreciate that there are tons of posts and that mods can't be everywhere at once.

Is Icon by harbor freight really a good tool brand?

At first I thought that must've been a typo but I just checked the online price for Carlyle and it is waaay cheaper than when I first bought one of their 1/2" ratchets about 6 years ago. Glad to see NAPA coming down on price.

DBL7405 filter--any before and after data?

Can't find a mileage rating on the spec sheet at the Donaldson website. All they mention is "double the contaminant holding capacity. . .for longer filter life." Not very specific but I'm fairly confident that 10k would be safe since Navistar originally specified 5k OCI for normal duty, and...

Lactose intolerance: how do you deal with it?

Exactly. This is not categorically true for all humans. According to some research as little as 30% of the world's population continues to produce lactase once weaned from their mother's milk, but that would mean 30% of the world's population is able to consume dairy with no ill effects...

Lactose intolerance: how do you deal with it?

Not that bad? A swollen tongue sounds pretty bad. Sorry to hear you have so many food allergies. I know an older lady who has so many allergies she nearly suffers from malnutrition as darn near everything disagrees with some part of her.

Is Icon by harbor freight really a good tool brand?

Yeah I think Blue Point, Carlyle, and Gearwrench are all Taiwan origin and lots of people seem to have good experiences with those brands.

    Increasing hostility on BITOG

Wait, you don't like Lucas oil stabilizer? Just kidding. But I have to add that simply because a member is new that doesn't mean anything about what knowledge they might posses.

Is Icon by harbor freight really a good tool brand?

Big vote here for the Williams made in the USA line of tools. You have to be careful when ordering because they do have a line produced in Taiwan. I haven't been able to find another domestic manufacturer with the pricing and quality that Williams offers.

    Increasing hostility on BITOG

I know I'm just a nobody new member here but I have seen more threads that went at least half-way off the rails on BITOG than the other two forums I have been a part of for the last 4-5 years. When a couple users begin to pollute a thread with personal digs and bickering there should be a...

Lactose intolerance: how do you deal with it?

No lactose intolerance here but I have read that some folks can handle heavy cream and fermented milk products better than low-fat & non-fermented dairy. FWIW there is quite a bit of evidence to show that heavy cream is a much healthier option if you can tolerate it. It wasn't that many years...

DBL7405 filter--any before and after data?

Thanks Interested but unsure where to look for reliable data. Suggestions? I've suspected I'm not using the filter to its potential but I would feel horrible if I ruined my engine by trying to save a few bucks. Ryder Fleet products used to have the best price at $20 a filter but had to stop...

    Driver's seat is worn out

I'm going with this explanation for the "necro" https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/necromancer Makes enough sense to me and sounds more highfalutin than "zombie".

    Form a gasket fail

I'm well aware of Hylomar and it is a fantastic gasket dressing. If an oil pan is moving independent of the rest of the engine then you have a completely separate issue from sealant/gasket/RTV/whatever, and using a flexible compound, if it even worked, would only be a temporary fix at best. If...

    Form a gasket fail

Just for kicks I checked the Permatex website and looked at the instructions for some of their RTV products and most say to assemble immediately and torque to spec. There were a few that said to first tighten finger-tight and then full torque after a specified time elapsed. So I guess this is a...

    Preferred Diesel Additive?

I can't believe that Tampa would need winter diesel, but I guess since it seems to offer less power and MPG it makes good business sense:rolleyes:. I would agree that the issue of lubricity in ULSD is a bit overblown, but if you have an older vehicle then lubricity may be more of an issue. The...

    Form a gasket fail

Fel-Pro makes good gaskets but darn near everyone I know who has used a gasket instead of OEM spec RTV has ended up with a leak. Good luck and remember that if it doesn't work out, well, third times the charm right?(y)
