Thinking about a newer car,, a 2016 Buick Lacrosse

My 2014 lacrosse was reliable but it succumbed to the noisy blend doors phenomena at ~34k miles. The doors would make a creaking/groaning noise when I selected among the HVAC modes. I replaced the actuators myself (quite an undertaking) to no avail. I found the noise so annoying that I attempted...

    2023 1.5/CVT Malibu Rental car.

Rented one yesterday (it was a 2023 with ~24000 miles) and I was surprised at the potency of the powertrain; the cvt was particularly impressive and I think it compares well with anything from Subaru or Honda. The engine is somewhat noisy but what really disappointed me was the noisy blend...

Love the looks of the 2024 Chevy Trax

I purchased my Envista ST (Trax in essence save the more posh interior) and so far I am quite pleased. I traded a 2014 Lacrosse 3.6 producing ~320 hp. I loved the thrust of that engine but grew increasingly disenchanted with its fuel consumption. I always drove with one eye on the gas gauge...

    "Cleaned" Intake Valves

I recently performed the CRC infusion on my 2018 Cruze (approx. 28000 mi.) in response to all of the dire warnings about the spectre of carbon accumulation in DI engines. Although I had no complaints with the car's performance and no issues with LSPI I was interested to note any difference...

Hertz Car Rental Fire sale Monday

I recently purchased a 2018 Chevy Cruze Premier with approx. 28000 miles from Enterprise and I am very pleased with it. Both interior and exterior are in excellent condition, the car drives well and the price was lower than similar offerings from Carvanna and CarMax with more miles. I searched...

    Pedal Commander

It is an excellent product. I installed one in my 2014 Regal and the car became far more satisfying to drive (and I used a conservative setting). I know many on this forum will disagree but I believe it produces the same effect as a good tune.

Some GM 1.5 turbos not doing too well ?

A short time ago I purchased a 2014 CPO Buick Regal turbo with great enthusiasm. The 2.0L turbocharged engine was a performance champion, but my satisfaction turned to gall when Icould not find a solution to the pre-ignition at low speeds. I used the recommended oil at the recommended intervals...
