Yeah ive looked into it. Not trying to badmouth Amsoil but i previously had bad luck with it and tend to stay clear from it. Just my personal preference.
Have you looked into Shell Rotella T6? it is a popular oil and is wet clutch approved. That being said its only a 40 weight oil.Not sure if you have to have 50 wt or not. Redline makes awesome Motorcycle oils but their price is comparable to Amsoil. Schaeffer has a 20W-50 oil that is designed for...
I have a 2014 Durango 3.6 with 52K miles. I want to replace the fluid in the transmission but it calls for a special low viscosity oil. From mopar its 30$ a quart!! Ive seen people have decent luck with Valvoline maxlife as its Lifeguard fluid approved. Only other 2 LV fluids ive found are...
Interesting,I run Schaeffers and i buy my 5 GAL pails for 120$ which is 6$ a quart. My father runs there older formulation of diesel oil 10w-30 and its 100$ for 5 GAL pail which is only 5$ QT. Most redline and Amsoil i see is 9-13$ a QT.
Is this the only vehicle you have ran Amsoil? Thats wild how a wrong spec oil caused you to lose a camshaft! If that happened to me id never use Amsoil again. Do you plan on staying with Schaeffers looks like its doing well for you.
I believe they shorten the OCI from the manufacture for the extra fuel burnt. For every how many miles you go with gas, running e85 would net you in burning 30% more fuel.
I wonder if they are worried about fuel dillution.
