Rear main seal and valve cover gasket

The rear main seal is a ton of work because you have to pull the transmission. The valve covers are relatively easy. I would do the valve covers to warm up for the main event.

Tesla AutoPilot runs over and kills motorcycle rider

It’s breaking new ground in the courts. Can you rely on auto pilot or not. What jurisdiction gave permission for Tesla to offer auto pilot on public roads, and what does the fine print say about a person texting while on auto pilot. I take it the driver is responsible for everything. Going to...

How do you keep bolts organized when disassembling things

One thing that should be considered is the ORDER in which these bolts come off. Arranging your storage in a linear fashion, helps jog the memory in the order everything goes back together. “ oh yeah, I can’t put the line holder on until AFTER, I tighten the differential to frame bolts because...

Rampage supersonic missile used on Iran

I think Israel is playing with them. Passover is done and they will probably do surgical strikes, taking out more radar installations and possibly any nuclear related facilities.

    New tool thread

My oid Canadian Tire Mastercraft 3/8” 50-250 inch lb torque wrench jammed up and wouldn’t click. There was no visible damage to it. I took it to returns thinking they would tell me to pound sand. The lady told me to go the the tool section and pick one up to replace it. No charge. Gotta love...

Oil leaks on Chevy LS engines

I replaced the oil cooler block gasket with a new GM one that looked identical. I’m still getting an oil droplet forming. Next time I take the truck out of service, I’ll undo the end the plug on the side of the block and change the O ring like you suggested. Photo is looking up, beside the new...

How do you keep bolts organized when disassembling things

I recently dropped an oil pan on a 3/4 ton Chevy. I also had to drop the front axle a bit. On the way to the shop where I did the work, I picked up a box of 1/2 cup canning jars. I took the tops off and arranged the jars in a row. As I disassembled things, I place the bolts in groupings in the...

Vehicles with optional engines that use a different viscosity

The plot thickens. Don’t mind the pun. The 2.0 came out in the Malibu in 2013 and 5w30 was recommended in all the Malibu engines. Here is the page from the 2013 owners manual. When the 1.5 came out, they recommended 0w20. Sounds like a CAFE thing.

Vehicles with optional engines that use a different viscosity

I came across this page in a owners manual for a 2021 Chevy Malibu. The oil recommendation for the 1.5 Turbo is 0w20, but for the 2.0 Turbo is 5w30. They are both 4 bangers, so the connecting rods and journals of the 2.0 are carrying a larger load. Not sure if the rods and journals of the 2.0...

I beg to differ. I have posted electricity sources many times. Go ahead and search the postings. California gets most of it power from burning natural gas.
