Mobil 1 0w40 is A3B4, but also has the higher viscosity than recommended xw30. By going A3B4 for stronger protection, should I consider staying with 5w30 or would the 0w40 be fine. The Mobil 1 5w30 is A5/B5 so I would be looking at another manufacturer to supply A3B3 grade.

Ok thanks, would I be safe running a A3/B4 oil such as 0w40 Mobil 1. This oil seems very popular but cannot find any recommendations for the V8 Volvo specifically.
