How to desensitize that pesky car alarm button on your fob

So simple. I'll have to try that with my 2005 Taurus FOB. It will pop the trunk if you breathe on it hard enough. Thanks!

Warranty Experience - Walmart EverStart Plus

I've had to warranty a couple of their Everstart Maxx batteries. After letting them sit on their testing machines, I was given new ones. However, they said the warranty does not reset and it's a "one and done" deal and no warranty is offered on the exchanged battery.

    Username Meaning

Used to drive a '78 Datsun 280Z to work. One day, I left the headlights on. The email went out that a "28oz in the parking lot has it's lights on". For some reason, the name stuck.

2001 Infiniti QX4, 151k. Burning oil like crazy!

I've owned two 3.5 VQ35DEs (a 2003 and a 2004 with just shy of 200k miles). Neither has ever been an oil burner. I think I've only ever topped off with about a 1/4 quart of oil once. Maybe twice in the last 11 years of owning the 2004 VQ, and that was only after a hard run across the country...

make sure to use a software firewall

Untangle works very well also and is extremely customizable. I run Untangle UTM (firewall, WAF, IDS, AV, Web Filter, Ad Blocker, etc..), Advanced Tomato on my WiFi router, route all traffic to OpenDNS.com, and a few other things on the hosts on my home network. Overkill? Not from what I see with...

    Oil spill clean up

For oil that's soaked into cement, I've used Krud Kutter with great success. I scrub it in a little, keep it wet for a few minutes and then hose it off. It's non-toxic and biodegradable. Probably the best de-greaser I've ever used.

    POR-15 vs. Ford PM-13-A

My 7.3 PSD oil pan is showing some rust. I haven't started scraping or sanding or anything yet, but it doesn't leak and does appear to be salvageable. Reading the horror stories of having to replace these pans, I think I can just coat it and be done with it for the foreseeable future. I think...

VQ35DE Maxima with timing chain rattle

The '03 I had was a G35, and I don't remember what octane it called for, but my '04 Quest I've only ever used 85, or whatever the lowest is when I pump it (I'm in Utah, high altitude like Colorado) and have never had an issue. It's at 196k miles, runs great, and looks like this, at least 30k...

VQ35DE Maxima with timing chain rattle

I've had an '03 and currently have an '04 VQ35DE, and neither ever burned any oil, so it's not all of them. In my experience, it's one or both of these things that are causing your noise: 1. The top of the chain guide (under tension from the tensioner) breaks off allowing the chain to rub on...

Hit By a Drunk Driver Tonight

A friend an 8th grade was killed by a drunk driver. 30+ years later, it still hurts. So glad you and your daughter are OK! Such an incredibly selfish and reckless action. Drunk drivers have zero tolerance in my book.
