Can YOU Spot the flaw in this New Raybestos Performance Rotor?

This makes me sad that we switched from PFC to Raybestos for our performance/heavy duty brake lineup.

    Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer

What are these great results? Where is the data? The fact the engine hasn’t blown up isn’t good enough.

    5.7 Chevy oil

It doesn’t matter if you use conventional, blend, or synthetic in that. I’ve owned MANY GMT400s with the 5.7 and always just run whatever 5W-30 I had floating around that day.

    These new self storage places

I had a storage unit for a while when I moved. It was just going to be a month or two while I got organized. Turned into a year haha. I could have tossed all that stuff and bought new in that time for the money wasted on storage. Anyway, now that stuff lives in the garage and I clean up one box...

    Apple cancels EV development

It's not that simple. So much stuff runs through infotainment systems on modern cars. Especially on EV with charging settings. Time of use based charging, max charge limit, etc. Can't be integrated into an off the shelf head unit.

Francis Scott Key Bridge (Baltimore) hit by Cargo Ship and Collapsed

While I'm glad most of the cars got off it but it's sad that the workers remained. Perhaps not ample time to get off the bridge?

Which rear brake pads for 2007 Mercedes S550?

That would absolutely drive me nuts and if my brakes did that I would not be able to tolerate it.

    Tesla steering wheels

Many people would describe Lexus as the pinnacle of automotive quality, yet they had a "sticky dash" issue for like 10 model years in the mid-2000s as far as I know. My Ford Escape had flaky bits coming off the steering wheel at around 80K miles. A $15 steering wheel cover resolved this. I...

Francis Scott Key Bridge (Baltimore) hit by Cargo Ship and Collapsed

Wow, that's crazy. What could have been done to prevent this? Is building the bridge to withstand impact from something so huge near impossible?

    2024 Silverado EV W/T - 450 miles EPA range

The GMC Sierra EV will be the one to buy IMO. From the marketing material it looks like it will be more attractive cosmetically than the Silverado EV.

2018 Nissan Frontier reliability (4 cyl, RWD)

Based on my experience with A LOT of these trucks through work… Engine and transmission are solid. I don’t know of any that actually had a major repair. Definitely top notch in that department. However, it will be a never ending list of little stuff. O2 sensors, MAF sensors, interiors that...

    Autozone ftw!

O’Reilly is all Lenovo thin clients as well as servers, at least in the stores. No idea what they use at corporate. Thin clients are network booted to a custom Linux distro skinned to look like Windows 2000. O’Reilly Parts System is Java. Even on 16GB of RAM per thin client it’s limited to...

So I put a Wix oil filter 51334 on my 2018 tucson base model 2.0L and immediately the check engine light came on.

I think it's possible to get a defective filter and have weird issues. Years ago I had a high mileage 01 Suburban 5.3. No issues when I bought it. Then, after an oil change, The oil pressure gauge was noticeably lower at idle and I had a slight hesitation that I couldn't figure out. On a whim I...

    "Park Outside" Recalls Are Soaring

I know on some Tesla packs the cells are all glued so you can't "rebuild" the pack easily but on Volt, Bolt, as well as the new Ultium stuff, I think they could do module swaps at the dealer. I read a few people in Volt FB groups who had modules replaced on their batteries under warranty vs the...

    "Park Outside" Recalls Are Soaring

GM really came through on that warranty starting over on the Bolt battery recall. But given they don’t even have replacement batteries for first gen Volts do we really think they’ll have warranty replacement batteries for Bolts in 2031? Or will they be used/rebuilt?

    Old Geezer Desktop Choices Help

Paying retail for those "business" PCs is a ripoff. If you saw how much of a discount businesses got on those PCs when they buy them in bulk your mouth would drop. If you just need a typical home/home office PC and you have Costco near you, you can do quite well, plus they include a free 2nd...

How did you find/pick your mechanic?

Do you find this works for you? Most shops that I know of aren't very receptive to this kind of stuff, especially for new customers that they don't have a relationship with. I think the shop supplying the part is a win-win for both the shop and the customer. For the shop, they get to make a few...

    Google Chrome updates

As previously mentioned, you may be able to install a proper Linux distro instead of Chrome OS and continue recieving updates that way. That said, I'm assuming you are not tech savvy and need nothing more out of a computer than just browsing the web, if you're using a Chromebook in the first...
