    Motor oil vs gear oil..(sorta)

    Ok.. I've got an 89 Dodge Dakota 3.9L with a manual trans. I'm gonna change fluid and the manual says 10 30 motor oil. Was just wondering in 33yrs if anything better has come along. I think it has Redline MTL 75w80 in it now (from the 5 year old receipt I found in the glove box). thanks.......

    89 Dakota Manual trans fluid change.

    Ok.. its time to do a Manual transmission,(an NP2500), fluid change on this beast The 89 Service manual says to use 10-30 oil. I feel stupid asking, but is this the way to go 28yrs later? takes 2 qts. and I'm assuming a full synthetic is ok.. appreciate the feedback.. k

    Adv Auto adventure... additivemania!!

    I admit I haven't done gas additives in years....but with this Old Dakota now I figure I should give it some help. I go in Adv Auto and ARE YOU KIDDING ME.. Additives forever......... it was STUPID. Lower price.. STP..Gummout.. medium Lucas..Seafoam.. MMO (not the extreme).. then crazy priced...

    Sludge removers...... worth the effort?

    Ok.. I've recently obtained a 1989 Dodge Dakota (V6).. 108000 miles. So it obviously has been sitting around a LOT. I did all the usual.. changed plugs.. wires..etc. Now I changed the oil with Mobil 1 and was wondering, for the next change should I use a sludge removal additive like EPR engine...

    Ok.. I'm buying the grandsons 1989 Dodge Dakota LE pickup with a manual Trans. Which is good cause I really wanted to have a manual one last time before I DIE..... anyway, is there an oversize oil filter I can put on this 3.9L engine? It calls for a Bosch 3330 or Fram 3614 etc.. and these are...
