Ford ranger idled a smidge higher whenever i towed my boat?

maybe oil/water cooling requirements mapped, or you are bottoming the idle map by having a very thin oil due to high temp, leading to higher rpms?

Is oem tires different than same model at tire store?

I saw everything. Factory tires on a car (Fiat) were Bridgestone B250 Ecopia, the same B250 Ecopia didn't have the same part number (4 digits) and the same environmental ratings than the factory one, and behaved differently especially when wet Michelin factory tires which were the same and had...

Mecafilter ELG5219 fuel filter cut open

Purflux CS435A went on, I'll be cutting it open when replacing too. Worth noting that Purflux is now having white boxes with stickers when coming from Sogefi South Africa, so I'm curious if they even kept the chevron-pleated media in. We'll see. from the exterior it doesn't look quality as I...

Mecafilter ELG5219 fuel filter cut open

this is a filter that has been put through WVO during anywhere between 10000-26000 kilometers, I lost track. replaced it because restriction was causing my saddle tank system to starve fuel at half tank due to low return feed pressure, while not having performance issue at high load high rpm.

Oil for a known fuel diluter - 5w30 Ford 2.0 ecoboost

or a bad HPFP. Warning folks, especially with top-mounted, cam-driven piston pumps. once the seals go bad, they drop fuel into the crankcase and kills your engine.

IHI turbos wasteGATE flapper journal wear common issue?

140000 kilometers, the plastic cam cover is leaking a lil bit of oil from the seal at the front, so maybe that's where the black on top of the lever comes? or leak from the bushing yes. interesting, let's see if I can find sleeves in shops on the island I'll carefully envision this. no issue...

IHI turbos wasteGATE flapper journal wear common issue?

Not solved yet, I don't know if I can have that specific parts for that turbo, as I don't have detailed parts numbers across the IHI RHF range to see what could fit where. So either a new/reman turbo, or parts so we can fix it ourselves... If anyone knows parts numbers about IHI turbos, I'll...

IHI turbos wasteGATE flapper journal wear common issue?

So, after speculating and procrastinating for thousand of kilometers, I finally figured out, by simply removing the turbo cover, why the car is losing power day after day with no explanation (and no MIL) at all: As some of you would figure out, the wastegate pin and journal are equally wore...

    Nissan mystery

For me, anything below 12.6V is a test, or charge and retest, or a replace. and anything below 12.2V where the charging system is okay goes straight in the bin

Suzuki K10C (tgdi) had parts issues but keeps losing boost pressure

Someone heard the car noises when I arrived at a car meet today and immediately mentioned "it seems you have a wastegate rattle". I googled and found a fair share of YouTube videos sounding a bit like the sounds I had that I attributed to GDI noises. Mine sometimes goes like this: especially...

Ford 913C/D alternative for 2.0 '13 TDCI Focus

I run 5W30 ACEA C3+VW504/507 nearly everywhere there's a DPF/GPF. I run A3/B4 elsewhere, or the same C3 depending on the circumstances. Those engines are essentially PSA (Peugeot/Citroën/DS) DW10 blocks with different peripherals and control units. PSA specifies 0W30 ACEA C2 2021+PSA B71 2312...

Suzuki K10C (tgdi) had parts issues but keeps losing boost pressure

bypassing the vacuum switch connected to the waste gate actuator had the actuator trigger even at idle, and no improvement while driving. so, I think I'm left with: -MAP sensor -MAF sensor -broken/bent/jammed waste gate -boost leak or more dramatic suggestions: -seized turbo -electronic...

Suzuki K10C (tgdi) had parts issues but keeps losing boost pressure

s so, while unplugging the MAF made the car go NA, unplugging only the MAP was really interesting! made the car go NA, the pressure reading was 22.6 psi all time, and the auto gearbox would only shift in 3 even in manual mode. on top of that, ESP warnings, everything.

Suzuki K10C (tgdi) had parts issues but keeps losing boost pressure

So, when unplugging the wastegate actuator I run like full NA. 0.6 psi when I try to move on my 100% hill as the torque converter stalls, VS 1.7 psi when the actuator is plugged, so it's doing something, but maybe the vacuum solenoid is acting up, more to that later. I'd do some schematics, as...

Suzuki K10C (tgdi) had parts issues but keeps losing boost pressure

OK while chatting with my brother, he suggested that the wastegate actuator solenoid might as well be always passing vacuum, and that's why the sharpie mark I put on the rod went away, but that wastegate might be closed at rest, as opposed to opened at rest, leading to no boost situation since...
