2012 Buick Regal 2.0: Timing chain time

Looks like the engine was happy? or maybe the old parts were happy to leave? How much time to do the timing job?

Not a great conversation with my local Infiniti dealer today. Least they were honest.

I'll add some comments to the thread based on your points. 1. The rebuilt units on efay are all from China, they have prices from $400 USD to $600USD and I doubt they are worth the risk. I watched a Russian YT video of someone rebuilding the coupler for a Nissan X-Trail, same basic unit as mine...

Tesla Cybertruck Hit With Stop-Sale Because of Unintended Acceleratiom Report

Yes on both. I remember his frequent visits to Vancouver and staying at the Bayshore Inn - renting the whole floor. Vancouverites only learned about his visits after he'd been there for about a month. No internet back then.

That's the coupler. There will be options, a lower kilometre used unit, or I just pay the dealer price. I like the QX60 and I usually keep my cars 10 years min, so not interested in trading it.

Not a great conversation with my local Infiniti dealer today. Least they were honest.

My 2019 QX60 is 4500 km out of powertrain warranty, but still within the time limit - said with my 'grasping at straws' face. My AWD system is making a clicking / popping noise when I reverse with the steering is hard to left or right. This is high probability of the rear electronic coupler on...

Tesla Cybertruck Hit With Stop-Sale Because of Unintended Acceleratiom Report

I was talking to my wife about Tesla tonight because the news was covering the 10% staff reduction. I explained that the Cybertruck was such a complicated design to produce properly and that combined with the 'rush to market' has produced a horrible quality experience for these truck-ish...

    Dissolving Road Salt off paint

I would ask the local roads maintenance crew what the F this is? and then ask how to remove it without causing an environmental event.

Explain this? Vehicle travels faster than the wind. My head hurts trying to figure this out.

I like the cut of your Jib....I always wanted to say that! Spent my youth tacking sailboats in English Bay Vancouver dodging freighters just because. Beam reach was an easy sail but slow, so it was reserved for when wind direction permitted and crew was tired.

That's a very ugly drain back valve, if the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit...

Are we over exaggerating the perfect ATF fluid level? thermal expansion seems to think we are

There is more error introduced by how close to perfectly level is the car front to rear, left to right in the setting of ATF fill. The OEM assy floor is level, but they use specialized metered machines to fill the transmission regardless of attitude of the car. OEM's won't tolerate 80ml of...

    Any Ghost Stories?

My grandmother would recall when she was young and still living in Ireland how when visiting a home where the daughter had just started having her 'monthly' that plates and cups would fling themselves off shelves for no reason or action. What intrigues me is why there are ghosts, I accept...

    Overfilled engine? Fun video here.

I doubt they would be bothered to test how much HP is lost at crank because of 2x the oil level or enough to contact the crank counterweights.

Character counts- a example from China

When I worked in Automotive the most dangerous situation - shipment of defective parts to customer - was 100% controlled by the lowest paid workers. Usually these people were freshly hired, lowest pay, most inclined to leave after 4 months. It was the same in many of my suppliers and also our...

Ever had a engine or Transmission failure?

We had a used 1998 Ford Windstar with the 3.8LV6 and yes the transmission failed right after I thought a fluid change would fix a slipping issue. The transmission shop that did the fluid change warned me that it could be disaster, but I was TOOOOOOO smart. The rebuild was done at same shop...

Watch out, being oblivious will get ya

Was there any smell of burning rubber as the idiot's tire failed? Usually if I smell that my eyes get hyper focused on who's going to try to ruin my day.

2019 Ford Flex with Flakes in Drain Pan

The oil fill cap shows the engine is not getting up to operating temperature most likely due to not enough highway driving or only short trips around town. The debris might only be dirt from exterior bottom of oil pan, or the bucket you used was not perfectly clean?
