Failed motor and/ or transmission mounts that showed no external signs of their failure

The vehicle in question was involved in a front end collision. It would not be unusual for things ( motor mounts) to be tweaked even a little- even though such damage could be seed by the human eye. If you followed the original thread- it was moderate damage-IMHO. It was in the junkyard and...

Speculate what happened to this trailer ramp door (salvage)?

Gee...a little grease/oil on those hinges would have prevented that scenario.

The smell of the oil has no bearing on when the oil needs to be changed-not color for that matter.

    2018 Transit transmission replacement costs

I'm am getting old. I'm 67- conversely- I'm done crawling underneath vehicles and removing skid plates and what not to change the oil. So it costs what it costs.

    2018 Transit transmission replacement costs

No.They have a "special" it's about a $100.00 to $125.00 for an oil change/tire rotation. The hourly shop rate is $250.00-maybe I wasn't clear. I assume the oil is the MotorCraft syn blend.

    2018 Transit transmission replacement costs

As I mentioned - I got rid of my 2020 F150 because of the transmission. After I traded mine in ( at the Chevrolet Dealership) there were three more low miles F150 that were traded in as well. All local trades according to Carfax. I know there are numerous reasons why some trade in- but you...

    2018 Transit transmission replacement costs

I don't know. But if it's your truck to the tune of $7,500-well before 100,000 miles-it's one too much....Unless you lived with one-which you apparently haven't -it's a moot point. There are no excuses-it's a poor piece of engineering on Ford's part. I not going to debate with you further-since I...

    2018 Transit transmission replacement costs

The basic design. (It's my understanding is the same). Different internals-by different suppliers, totally different software, etc. THEY ARE DIFFERENT. They are manufactured in totally different factories. We know Ford's quality control is abysmal-as they wear the recall crown.

    2018 Transit transmission replacement costs

I understand there are complaints-but not as near as many. I am talking trucks. There is a large take on the 5.3 with the ten speed. Also combine the Silverado and Sierra sales (mechanically identical)-and many times the numbers exceed Fords. It takes very little motivation for Lawyers to file a...

    2018 Transit transmission replacement costs

The point being is that the GM's version of the ten speed isn't failing in the numbers the F-150's are. Nor-are the reports of "clunky shifting" as widespread. I just traded a clunky, sloppy, unrefined 10 speed in a 2020 F150 w/40,000 miles on a 2023 Silverado w/the 5.3 and 10 speed. The...

So I got the Michelin Defender 2

True-but the CC2s tread is different than many tires-probably patented.

So I got the Michelin Defender 2

Seeing how one has a more conventional tread pattern (RT43s) and the CC2s do not-it would make perfect sense for them to track better.

Is the recommended 0-20 bad for engine life?

But they still protect. So what's your concern? The (0W/20) oil has been around a long time now-anecdotal evidence suggest no harm to motors.
