gf-4 SM for 6.0 ski nautique

Thanks for the suggestions snagglefoot! Manual is 2015 but may just be reprinted. Boat has 60 hrs on it so it's basically new. The valvoline extreme is on for a great price at TSC here but after reading some of the posts on here it looks like it doesn't measure up to some of the other brands.

gf-4 SM for 6.0 ski nautique

I've been searching for a couple of hours now, most of the discussions/debates are above my level of comprehension. Anyway I have a 2015 ski nautique 200 with the ZR409 6 litre chev made by pleasure craft marine (PCM). PCM recommends the following: Prevailing Ambient Recommended A.P.I...

    Amsoil in a 5.7 (~1000hours) or still use T5 ?

Maybe if you floor it at every takeoff and run it at 3000RPM when cruising. Boat engines live a way harder life than a car engine. I'd say 1000 hours is closer to 120-150,000 miles. Just reading this interesting ski boat thread! I had a 351 in my first 1990 ski nautique. I used esso xd-30...

    Left lane hogs

Maybe it has been mentioned but how about those #%@)'in hogs who sit in the left lane and then when you go to pass them on the right after waiting 5 minutes they speed up??? Who the #$%@ do you think you are???? This can cause some high speeds that could have been avoided. Someday I will own a...

    PCM Ford 351.

Looking for an oil recommendation for my 1990 Ski Nautique. Previous owner (1 owner boat) used 10w-30 Castrol synthetic with no problems. I can continue to use this as it is readily available in Canada. GC is cheaper and is available too. However I have a shelf full of Esso XD-3 0-30 synthetic...

    Jetta and Esso XD3

MY friends Jetta is still rolling along with XD-3, now with 330,000 km's. His trips to work are much shorter now so he won't be driving 80,000 + per year anymore. My mechanic did a compression test in September 2006 and said it was near factory spec FWIW. Fortunately VW makes good motors...

What do guys think of the Ford Freetyle?

"I did not know people actually bought these other than rental car fleets. The Honda Odyssey is supposed to the minivan of minivan's at the moment...not to mention the best in terms of resale." -------------------- 318ti/325is/325iT What an arrogant comment. Thanks for the insight on the Ford...

    1995 Nissan Pathfinder

Having difficulty choosing which synthetic ATF to use in my Pathfinder - 4 speed auto tran. Just purchased the vehicle and would prefer to use Redline and/or Mobil due to availability. Redline has about 4 to choose one but I don't know which one suits my truck, if any. 175,000 km - should I do...

    Jetta and Esso XD3

Anyone know of a bigger filter for the Jetta? Using a Napa Gold 1393 but is there anything larger that Napa makes that fits and has the correct specifications? Thanks

    Jetta and Esso XD3

To answer the above questions: The person who drove my Accord was a female - need I say more? :-) Not sure why she drove in third gear versus 4th. 4th gear drops the RPM down to 3200-3500 RPM if I remember correctly, but don't quote me. Would have to do another road test. This is my second...

    Jetta and Esso XD3

Thanks for the responses. I should have added the Jetta has 260,000 km, mostly highway. Side note: I am currently using XD3 in my 1991 Accord that has 347,000 km. Just switched at 345,000 km to the XD3, when I bought the car. A friend of mine drove the car on a 2.5 hour highway trip in 3rd...

    Jetta and Esso XD3

Does anyone see a problem with using XD3 0-30 synthetic in a 1999 Jetta 2.0 gas engine? I realize the XD3 does not meet Volkswagen's oil specs. Currently using GC but my Esso dealer sells the Xd3 for less than half the price of GC. Using a NAPA Gold 1393 as well. Any feedback appreciated, Thanks

    Mobil 1 no longer?

I had an interesting conversation with my local Esso bulk dealer the other day to see if they sell M1 0-30 race oil. Now maybe other Canadians can help me out here but the dealer told me that M1 race oil is not approved in Canada - can anyone confirm this? I asked why and he stated that it costs...

Baldwin air fillter for 2002 Civic Sedan

Hi folks, having difficulty finding the part number on the Baldwin site for the replacement filter for my d17 Civic. Anybody know it? Does anyone currently use a Baldwin filter on their Civic? Can anyone comment on Baldwin vs Napa Gold air filters - is one better than the other? FYI the Baldwin...
