    What is this Volkswagen truck?

Saw this today in town. Couldn't see the model or read where the license plate was from but doesn't look like a U.S. plate. Large meat packing plant here getting people from all over the world but they don't pay enough to have a vehicle shipped here so I am guessing it may be a country north...

    Aircraft near miss?

Driving home from a long work night/day/week through Iowa City on the highway a plane caught my eye. It was a business jet heading east with it running gear down like it was going to land at the airport right in that area. I thought it was odd as you usually don't see many plans landing that...

    Honda eGX Electric Boogaloo

https://engines.honda.com/models/series/egx I don't know what to think about this. It reminds me of the first generation of LED light retrofits. You loose the benefit of new technology by just trying to mimic old technology with new off the shelf parts.

Wireless router for large house recomendations

I have bought a new house that is much larger than our current one. Currently I use a Netgear Nighthawk R6350 that covers the current 1200sqft ranch nicely from a central point in my basement. The new house is 3700sqft with a full basement and partial second floor in a bad cell reception area. I...

    B&D drink mixer

https://www.blackanddecker.com/product/behb101/bev-blackdeckertm-cocktail-maker I realize they do make appliances also but I saw this on a tool website so..... I know Makita makes a battery powered coffee maker so they should have branded this as DeWalt and had it take a power tool battery.

    Did you ever notice...

...That you can tell how big a bump or dip in the road is by how big the oil stain is after it? Also related to that is tire marks from spread axle trailers especially if being on the brakes is common. Been up since midnight and drove about 400 miles so lots of odd stuff to think about.

Here is a tool for those that stress about oil filters.

https://www.gearwrench.com/products/auto-specialty/engine-tools/3289-10-pc-oil-pressure-check-kit Just watched a video by Watchweswork where he used this. Interesting way to check oil pressure.

    Cistern questions

So my house was built in 1970. It has had rural water probably since the late 80s or early 90s. I have used the cistern for water to settle the dirt from the septic system install when we bought the house in 2012. The cistern is two round concrete tanks with a three foot wide access above ground...

    4L80E lost fourth and lockup

As I left my parents house today in my suburban pulling a lightly loaded trailer when it went to shift into fourth the Rpms dropped for a split second like it shifted then revved up like against nothing. I have 1st 2nd 3rd and reverse like normal but no lockup in third when the shifter is in...

    Brake rattle

Brakes on my suburban were getting thin and rust creeping on the friction surface to the point where I noticed the rear brakes doing more work. They have had a rattle for 20000 miles now but nothing looked out of place or felt loose so I figured it was pads rattling. Not so munch…. Previous...

    This will make you happy…

Click bait title…… Less than $10 dollars more buying it from John Deere and no shipping than the only other place I could find an OEM starter for my 318. Mitsubishi made in Japan. I went with this $360 dollar OEM one rather than the $50 to $100 knock off ones since you have to pull the motor...

    Vintage Tools

Post up any vintage tools you have. Old designs or logos or just plain obsolete stuff. I have this Snapon Torqometer at work. Never used it and don’t know if it even works. Don’t know how old it is but the part number is not a current one.

    Which one is fresh?

Guess which gasoline is only two weeks old. One bottle was grabbed of the pipeline two or three weeks ago and has set in the back of my truck since. The other was taken from a generator that hasnt ran and still doesn't run for over 6 years and was possibly cut with fresher gas 8 months ago.

Fresh #2 USLD with no additives.

Was most likely still crude oil less than two weeks ago. Color is duller than it can be but no haze. Sometimes it is almost a neon yellow.

    “Christmas Star”(Jupiter and Saturn)

I managed to get a picture with my iPhone 11 of it. It is moving fast. It looks to the naked eye that they are separate. The phone makes it look way bigger and brighter than it it. It is just off the tip of the tree in the second one.

    Basler Läckerli

Anyone ever had this? My grandma used to make it and send it out to all her kids during Christmas time along with awesome fruit cake. The lackerli was soft and chewy with an interesting flavor (Hazelnut I think). Would have been good with coffee. Mom tried to make it after grandmas health...

    EB2200i break in.

New work toy. Used John Deere turf guard 10w-30 since that was the first non synthetic 10w-30 I found in my shed. Put in oil and gas and started it up. Plugged in the heater and fan that should be around 1600 watts and let it run a few hours at full throttle. With the eco throttle on it was...

    19/32 socket

Found this in Grandpa's toolbox when I was cleaning the tools up. A quick search says that some old Ford engines used this along with several other suspected uses. The most common being 8 point sockets for square headed bolts along with being an SAE match to 15mm. This one is 12 point. Anyone...
