Basic dumb phone for a kid

There are two IMEIs on the box. Both of them "check out" when I plug them in on RedPocket's website. I guess I'll find out for sure when I get the SIM card in a few days.

Yeah, I did manage to get a response from them - they say it's T-Mobile and nothing else.

Is It A Buyers Or Sellers Market Where You Live ?

100% sellers market around here. Sellers get way above asking price most of the time.

Japanese-made compact FWD SUV, no CVT?

AWD on the CX-5 is really FWD 99% of the time, so the MPG penalty is negligible.

Thanks, but all those budget Nokia phones seem to have terrible reviews. Nokia is not what it used to be 20 years ago.

    Lets talk about new vehicles

Anyone looked at the new 2025 Camry? It's not exactly a stunner, IMO, but I like it better than the bland looking Accord. You should be able to easily get 50 MPG in these, and it is more spacious and more upscale-feeling than a Prius. Apparently chassis/handling isn't a complete boat either...

I know, but I'd rather not be dependent on the internet connection - if it goes down, so does your home phone. Plus, with a cell phone, you can also use it when out of the house, if need be. And the Red Pocket plan is still cheaper than ooma.

He's 9. It's just for emergencies when he stays at home while we are out. I currently have a landline that he can use, but I'm planning to ditch it since it costs $50/month. So I'm basically looking for a cheaper alternative. The Red Pocket plan is $30 for an entire year. Just need a cheap...

Thanks, but I can't check the IMEI since I haven't bought the phone yet.

I was going to buy one of those annual $30 Red Pocket prepaid cards that comes with a SIM card. It'll be a new line. But I could activate it on one of my other unlocked phones. Or will that not work?

Any recommendations for a basic (voice and text only) phone that would work with Red Pocket? I'm looking at this AGM phone: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CN6Q9D6T/ But I can't get a straight answer from either Red Pocket nor AGM whether it would actually work with Red Pocket. It just...

Amsterdam to Rome layover of 85 minutes, will I make it to the gate? (Delta)

The flight from Amsterdam to Rome may not actually be Delta. It could be a code share, but operated by some European airline. If everything was right on time, I think you'd make the connection. But if your first flight experiences even a slight delay, you may be in trouble.

Discount Tire Direct becomes Tire Rack?

Discount Tire bought TR a few years back. Reduction of competition is never good news for the customer.

Installing GrapheneOS on current Pixel 4a5g or buy a newer Pixel 7?

How is your battery life? That's one thing I'd be concerned about on an older device. I have a Pixel5, and while battery life isn't what it used to be when new, I'm still getting by just fine, but I am starting to think about a new phone.

    Budget all-band radio?

Picked up this XHDATA D-109WB. It had a $12 off clip coupon when I ordered it a few days back, so I decided to give it a try. Functionality wise, it's very similar to Radiwow D-108, except it has weather band/NOAA instead of air band. The 109 is also a bit larger with a louder speaker, and...
