    Installing new water heater

I've done OK with a 40gallon. removal and installation is a 1 man job. The slope in the back yard allows me to get a siphon going that will drain the water tank or the heater. The propane htr abides in the dirt floor utility dungeon. The last one I changed took about 4hrs,including buying it...

Phobia of working under a car on jack stands

I have a gravel drive, Most stands are designed for concrete. I use a set of 2X8 steps screwed together. Heavy but very stable. Fine for oil changes. I had a metal ramp fold up side wise once. The wimpy stands I have require wood underneath to get high enough. Cement blocks are fine when...

    New Oatmeal A Total Yuck

I cooked some of Bob's steel cut oats. in a crock pot using the recipe on the bag. It says it was 4 portions. I use a cup of ROs, so the portions are tiny I sliced a banana into it, that normally would go into the bowl first. I prefer the texture of rolled oats but didn't mind the steel cut. The...

I have an old Daisy air rifle Earliest patent date is Aug 13 1889- Jul 14 1890

latest date is OCT 1 1901. If those dates are righteous. I think there is good chance that it belonged to Wallace Crispin. He was my father's mother's youngest brother who died of Spanish flu in 1918. It doesn't have the cocking lever like a Red Ryder. It breaks like a single barrel shot gun...

When I 1st retired I almost tried for a job being back up to a driver-less car. The job was up around MIT in Cambridge. The snag was that I couldn't 'drive' the car home. That would be a hellish commute. BTDT in my own car/subway (n)
