    Turn signals all blinking fast

I know on newer cars, what is often described as 'hyperflash' is an artifact of having insufficient resistance in the circuit, ie: a burned out bulb, a retrofitted LED bulb, etc. Basically they'll use a sense resistor in-line with the power circuit, and if the voltage is insufficient on the...

    Rear struts 2005 impala.

Yeah I think those are coil on strut. So you'd need to either buy quick struts, or transfer the coil spring from your old strut to the new strut.

    Uneven Pad Wear?

Do those have 'hardware', ie: stainless steel plates, that affix to the caliper mounting bracket? The pads should also slide relatively smoothly within such brackets. Often what happens is that rust forms underneath those stainless steel plates, and essentially makes it difficult for the pads to...

    Ontario Nuclear update

Amazing. Still remember visiting DNGS in May, 1992, and being told that the multi-billion dollar plant, paying 8-10% (or higher) interest at the time, was not running because of cracks in turbines. Glad to hear they finally were able to turn that around. Have they developed any 'permanent'...

Going over 12 months on OCI

12 months? I haven't changed oil in 12 years on my car. Lol I'm convinced that inadequate oil quantity is what most of the sludge-buckets end up suffering.

Walmart Auto Care Centers to close after today

Some people especially those who work with critical infrastructure, are going to have vehicles that require some form of care. Yes, oil changes can be extended in most cases, but not indefinitely. And there are safety related things, or even literally "no-go" items like flat tyres, that will...

Honda to halt production for 6 days

The USA (along with a few other insignificant small countries) is an outlier in terms of vehicles per capita: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_vehicles_per_capita There is plenty of room for vehicles per capita to fall to even the levels of Canada (for example). And hard...

Ford, GM, FIAT close all US factories

I suspect the future is going to be a lot more taking care of vehicles so people get 20-25 years out of them instead of 15 years tops in most cases these days. OEMs, that have largely given the middle finger to doing engineering support of in-service products, may actually start doing so as a...

    Stock market!!!!

After similar highs in terms of P/E ratio, amounts of leverage/credit in the economy, etc., in 1929, the Dow went on to drop from about 380 down to about 41. Cash (actual cash, not bank deposits), US Treasuries, gold, and gold miners were the big winners for the next decade.

Why are 20" and 21" tires so much more $$$ than 17-18" tires?

I suspect there's a hefty insurance/lawyers reserve embedded into the cost of those lower-profile tyres for high performance cars (that have unfortunately drifted into some mainstream vehicles such as the Accord). They really don't contain any extra materials, but they are more likely to fail...
