Which lacquer thinner to put in gas tank?

As it turned out, the code cleared on it's own and I never ended up trying it. I guess I got lucky. I would have went with the RUSTOLEUM brand.

Which lacquer thinner to put in gas tank?

Probably the California specific formula. So go with the one with less methanol perhaps?

Which lacquer thinner to put in gas tank?

I've decided it! I'm going to add 1gal of lacquer thinner to 10 gallons of gas in vehicle to clear DTC's 0430/0420 for inefficient catalytic converter performance. I'm going to wait until I've got a trip planned to drive at least 150mi to burn it in one go. Don't want to let it sit in the...

Honda Dual Pump Fluid II vs Acura's All-Wheel Drive Fluid (DPSF)

From what I'm reading on that posted Blackstone Labs report shows the fluids are similar, but not identical. Local Honda/Acura dealer swears they're the same. Posts on Honda/Acura forums have reported the fluids are different colors and smell different. Maybe that has changed? Guess we could...

Is valve lash adjustment included with piston r&r?

Thanks to all for the info. From the responses, it seems as though the answer is: the valve adjustment should be done, but probably won't be (unless paid for). The link "the Critic" posted doesn't mention anything explicitly about adjusting the valves. With over 200k on the engine, I guess I...

Is valve lash adjustment included with piston r&r?

My 2011 MDX has been approved by Acura for a warranty repair to remedy excessive oil consumption. The repair includes replacing all six pistons and rings. Question is, would this procedure necessitate a valve adjustment when reassembling the head? Wanting to know before the dealer tries to...

    Questions after front brake job

No rattling so far. I noticed the silicone paste is much thicker than the grease that was previously in there. Not sure if the silicone, over time, will thin out as well.

    Questions after front brake job

After binging on YouTube instructional videos, I just completed swapping front pads and rotors on my 2011 Acura MDX. Reason for the job was that the outboard pad on the DF wheel was worn to the nub. DF inboard pad was perfectly fine. PF wheel pads/rotors were good too and probably didn't need to...

    Overfilled?

I'll try to keep this question short and sweet: About a month ago I got my '04 imapala back from the mechanic after a fuel pressure regulator R&R. Shop stated that oil had to be changed due to fuel leaking into the crankcase. After bringing car home and checking the dipstick, oil was way over...

Small coolant leak in/around expansion tank (PICS)

It worked! The leak was being caused by the cheap plastic hose clamp. With the stainless steel hose clamp, it's been three weeks and dry as a bone!

Pan drop on '04 Impala - ATF suggestions

Just wanted to give everyone an update on the ATF change. The pan drop & filter change went smoothly. I replaced ~8 qts of the drained ATF with the Maxlife Dex/MERC bought from AAP. Everything was fine except occasionally I would get a little slippage starting from a stop on an incline -...

Small coolant leak in/around expansion tank (PICS)

Update: Well, I took off about 3/4" of the hose end, wrapped teflon tape around the nipple and replaced the plastic hose clamp with a SS worm drive clamp (from NAPA). I'll let you all know if it works...and maybe now I can get some sleep at night because this leak has been driving me crazy for...

Small coolant leak in/around expansion tank (PICS)

Thanks for the great suggestions. I'll get a SS worm drive clamp and some teflon paste! Something like this? or could I just use a bunch of teflon tape I have on hand to save some money. Otherwise gotta make a trip to harbor freight & home depot.

Small coolant leak in/around expansion tank (PICS)

So I recently changed the coolant on a '04 Impala 3.4L. While doing so, I removed the coolant overflow tank (non-pressurized) and tried and clean some of the brown gunk (dried dexcool) out with a garden hose. When I reinstalled and connected the tank, I noticed that it was leaking very slowly...
